The unemployment rate in this age group is three times that of older adults throughout Europe, and is even worse in some countries.

There are some program being implemented in many countries in the region that attempt to address this issue; extending education and creating programs that provide incentives to continue education rather than dropping out to seek employment sooner have had some effect, but this only postpones the problem.

Also, the longer these young individuals stay out of the workforce, the more difficult it will be for them to integrate into the workforce, and there are fears -- substantiated by evidence -- that youths will eventually simply become fed-up with the situation as it stands, and decide that there will simply never be jobs available that will provide them with the careers and lifestyles that they have been taught to expect as a right.

Even before the major economic downturn of the past years, unemployment in this category of youths has been a major problem in Europe, and no long-term solutions have yet been proffered. One of the ways that the ILO provides information about Germany is by putting it into a broader context, describing regional issues that have an impact on Germany and that also find a specific instance in Germany itself.

Furthermore, the ILO provides a forum where real, practical ideas can be discussed and analyzed in ways that could actually lead to their implementation and so lead to positive benefits for Germany and for other countries throughout the world. In both of these ways, support is provided by the ILO.

Suitability for International Business Positions In today's global society, the need for effective and suitable people in international business positions is greater than ever before, with instantaneous communication with countries around the world now the standard and with shipping and transportation between these countries now measured in days or even hours instead of weeks and months.

The increasing confluence of different cultures and the increasing pace of business lead to the definition of certain qualities that individuals in international business positions must hold if they are to be truly suitable for these jobs. One of these qualities is the ability to communicate with very diverse groups of people and individuals that hold different values and beliefs in a direct, comfortable, and effective manner.

People who have the ability to see things from different perspectives and to not only tolerate but to truly see the benefits of the beliefs and values of other cultures are definitely more suitable for positions in international business than those that are either less acquainted with other cultures or those that.
