Product focused on for this experiment will be Handi-Snacks, a common cracker and cheese snack parents usually give to their children. The purpose of this selection is to demonstrate how a company would sell such a product to not only parents, but children as well. The focus will be on creating Handi-Snacks advertising campaign.

Audience

Our focus audience is on young children and their parents. More often than not, the focus is to sell to the children, so that they will then ask their parents to buy the product. When advertising their products, companies keep their potential consumers in mind. After all, the consumers will be the ones to determine the effectiveness of the commercials. Commercials make their products seem potentially useful to their intended audiences. For example, most of Handi-Snacks' intended audiences are young children. Although Handi-Snacks is not an important part of the children's diet, Handi-Snacks commercials makes the snacks appear to be something delicious to eat. For this reason alone is powerful enough to lure the children to beg their parents to buy Handi-Snacks for them. Some companies also make viewers' concerns, needs, and problems more important than its product featured in the commercial.

Statement of Goals

We are trying to achieve the impact of inspiring children to want to eat Handi-Snacks, and hence hope that they will ask their parents for the treat. We intend on doing this by showing via advertising how enjoyable the treat is, regardless of its actual need basis in a child's diet. By doing this via commercials and magazines, especially during Saturday morning cartoons, we hope to illicit some type of response.

Statement of Method.

We intend to use MS Office applications to create my package by applying items such as word for typed reports, excel for graphs and charts that help keep track of how the target audience is responding to our advertising, and access to allow us to keep our files databased. We will have to use apporpriate applications at appropriate times; for instance, the first application that will probably be used is word in order to state what our thoughts are., We then will move onto charting and keeping track of the target audience through the use of excel, and we can database these results using access.
