Delivery Strategies

Examples of three value-added support strategies for a safe and caring environment

Managers of any nursing home are expected to promote the existence of safety and harmony within the nursing environment. This is possible through the adoption of various strategies targeting its valued-added care activities like bedsides procedures, teaching, vital signs, communication with patient care, and activities of daily living. Some of the strategies that can be adopted in order to bolster safety in the nursing home include:

Adopting diverse communication strategies between the patients and the nurses. The management must ensure that patients and nurses can voice their issues and possible grievances to the relevant authorities without fear of victimization. All stakeholders must be free to communicate with the nursing; this will enhance safety because individuals will be having a sense of freedom when expressing themselves. The best strategy is to promote the anonymous model of raising issues so that instances of victimization are reduced. This will enhance patient and nurse safety within the nursing home (Ginter & Duncan, 2013).

II. The nursing home should have a proper protocol for managing documents for each patient. Safety is enhanced when confusion and mixing of documents is minimized. In case of an eventuality, care and safety are jeopardized because of possible administration of wrong drugs. The best strategy here is to use and electronic system to replace the paperwork.

III. The management should strive to enhance the safety of its bedside procedures. The nursing home can do this by ensuring that it utilizes the services of regularly evaluated and registered nurses. Such nurses should be readily available and enough to serve the population in the nursing home (Ginter & Duncan, 2013).

I. Establish its operations in strategic locations like cafes shopping malls, and other places where people visit frequently. With such a strategy, they will be able to attract individuals, even with the mildest health problems that would take some time before they visit the regular hospitals (Coddington, Fischer & Moore, 2001).

II. The clinic could collaborate with leading healthcare insurance providers. Since majority of Americans prefer using the health insurance, most of them would not visit clinics that would prompt them to use cash or rare/unpopular insurers. With such a strategy, the clinic will appeal to a larger customer segment.

III. The retail clinic should have a comprehensive network with local hospitals and physicians. Since walk-in clinics cover a narrow scope of ailments, it is prudent for them to have a partnership with the hospitals so that they can assist a patient who has a health condition…
