Medicare should not limit anyone on their hospital stay. This is what needs done in order for individuals to receive the highest quality of care needed (Daley, Jencks, Draper, Lenhart, Thomas, & Walker, 1988). Since Medicare appears to make it difficult for patients to stay longer, hospital staff can contact the insurance company, and stress that these particular patients are allowed a longer time in which to heal from their ailments.
In regards to nursing staff, this is an issue due to more going into retirement. Colleges and hospitals can provide incentives in order to make sure that more people go into this field. They can provide scholarships and opportunities for anyone interested in working in medicine. Furthermore, the entrance requirements can become easier for someone who is passionate about going into it.
