High Design Manufactured Homes
High-design manufactured homes are described as "instant" or prefabricated homes that transcend the usual 'box-style' mobile home appearance and break new barriers in material design. Their style is often characterized by geometric shapes, seamless and flowing interiors and the use of unique materials such as steel and glass. So long as the materials are tough enough to withstand transportation, 'prefab' homes can resemble everything from high-end tree houses to homes that look antique and crafted. They can be assembled and disassembled, and can be customized to meet consumer specifications, yet are often affordable enough for middle-income consumers or seniors to purchase (URL to photographs: (http://www.realestatejournal.com/homegarden/20040121-jeffrey.html)

Nanotechnology All manufactured products are made from atoms, with the properties of these products based on how atoms are put together. By rearranging coal atoms, diamonds are formed. Similarly, by rearranging the atoms in sand and adding some trace elements, electronic chips are developed. In time, it will be possible to more readily connect the fundamental building blocks of nature. The word "nanotechnology" is used to describe when the characteristic dimensions

It isn't one size fits all anymore, either, thanks to modern computer-design methods that let architects vary the prefab houses the way Lego blocks can be moved around. More than that, though, architects think the new avant-garde looks can win over upscale buyers craving a touch of high design for their abodes" (Jeffrey & Keats 2004). Modular homes are both unique and inexpensive -- a perfect option for new
