Google: history, business model, and market impact

¶ … high-technology companies. Specifically it will discuss the Google organization and its policies. Google is the perfect organization to profile because it is such a well-known and diverse company, and it has made a dramatic difference in how people experience and surf the Internet. It is also a company with a conscience that gives back to their communities, and they have offices around the world.

Google has had extremely positive effects on the Internet, and in developing a number of different applications for information, such as Google Earth, Google Books, and much more. They are really a library of information and technology, and they continue to grow and change the way we experience the Internet.

They have had negative effects, as well. Many people worry about their privacy with the advent of the street cameras on Google Earth, and Google has been battling authors who claim they illegally uploaded their books into Google Books without permission. There has also been controversy about the data Google collects on users and how it is handled and maintained, which have led to some people not downloading their applications or using their browsers.
