A place of lasting impression

Paris is surely one of the 'cheesiest' travel destinations and bona fide travelers are likely to consider that it is pointless to visit the city because of the numerous tourists swarming its streets and practically ruining the traditions that the location is known for. However, once you start to ignore tourists and stereotypes you are likely to discover that this is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The city is remarkable for its cultural values during the day and for its impressive nightlife once the sun sets. I did not think that a city could be so impressive for me before I visited Paris, but France's capital certainly triggered unique feelings and made me want to come back as soon as possible.

The diverse individuals in Paris catch your attention from the first few minutes consequent to getting off the plane. These people are open-minded and express little to no interest in eccentric persons, regardless of their level of eccentricity. I'm not saying that I'm a particularly eccentric individual, but seeing people put across their feelings openly (in spite of the fact that some were actually ridiculous) made me change my perspective on life.

It was during my first night in Paris that I came to really appreciate the city because it was lively and filled with people who seemed to be uninterested in things like sleep. The fact that I stayed in the 9e arrondissement probably played an important role in my overall experience in the city. Place Pigalle is one of the most attractive places in the area because it contains what is equivalent to Amsterdam's Red Light District. While some might be inclined to believe that someone would appreciate this aspect of Place Pigalle, it is actually the numerous young people partying in the neighborhood and going through the streets without fearing that someone might reprimand them for their attitudes what makes this place incredible.

This is a place where people virtually stop to talk to you on the street with no interest in your background or where you come from. The fact that there are a lot of tourists there also has a positive effect because most individuals who approached me were speaking English. This made it possible for me to integrate rapidly and to really feel that I was right at home there.
