¶ … Department Members (My Minions): I just received the return figures from financing and development, and unfortunately there are some changes I need you all to make. First, I need you to insert all design specifications into the first of the two spreadsheets I've attached to this message. The function of this spreadsheet is to correlate data so that I can compare our product performance figures more easily. I'm tired of that process taking as long as it does. Second, I need you to record your time spent on each design project on the second spreadsheet attached to this message. This will enable me to compare how much time you spend on certain projects with the importance of that project towards meeting our quarterly goals. I want you all to spend more time on projects that actually further our quarterly goal, and I'd like for us to spend less time on projects that don't really make a difference. The sooner we reach our quarterly goal, the happier I'll be and the more time I'll be able to give you all to work on your pet projects. The head honcho has been showing some interest in those. I'm well aware that this will not be the easiest transition, but I need this done right away. Expediency in this matter will reflect well on myself and our department, and could lead to a higher departmental budget. Looks like I might be able to take that end of the year golf vacation after all and maybe even purchase some of those additional supplies for our department which you've all been asking for. I appreciate your attention to this matter and would like to see the first round of return spreadsheets in my inbox by the time I leave the office today around 4:00. Department Manager Bob

First, you'll need to insert all design specifications into the first of the two spreadsheets that you'll find attached to this message. The function of this spreadsheet is to correlate data so that we can compare our product performance figures more easily. That will help quicken up the process. Second, record your time spent on each design project on the second spreadsheet attached to this message. This will help us determine the way our time was spent and whether or not it was actually spent on meeting goals important to our progress. Like this, we'll be able to monitor which projects deserve more of our time and which less, and whether we spent too much time on a worthwhile but secondary project. Reaching our goals and monitoring our time management is important for all of us for not only will we able to effectuate our quarterly goal faster, but we'll have more time later on to accord our pet projects.
