Regulating Laws

The executive and legislative branches of the government are tasked with different responsibilities, but they must work together in order to create and implement laws that benefit the public. The executive branch is responsible for carrying out the laws that are enacted by the legislature, as well as for enforcing those laws. The legislature, on the other hand, is responsible for creating the laws that will be enforced by the executive branch (Brownell, 1955).

There are many ways to influence both branches. The executive and legislative branches of government are both influenced by many factors. The president, as the head of the executive branch, is influenced by public opinion, the media, special interest groups, and the bureaucracy. The Congress, as the primary legislative body, is influenced by public opinion, the media, special interest groups, and the president. In addition, both branches are influenced by the Supreme Court and the Constitution. These influences help to shape the decisions made by the executive and legislative branches and can impact the policies that are enacted. In order to ensure that laws are created and enacted in a way that benefits the public, both branches must consult with each other and cooperate throughout the entire process. Only through this type of cooperation can the government hope to create and implement laws that effectively protect and serve the interests of the people.

In American democracy, a professional organization is classified as a special interest group if its members share common economic interests and if it tries to influence government policy to benefit its members. While my professional organization does share some common economic interests with its members, it does not try to influence government policy. Instead, the organization’s focus is on providing resources and networking opportunities for its members. For this reason, my professional organization is not a special interest group in American democracy.
