Technology in Healthcare: Recent Innovations and Their Implications

Although the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has abated in the United States somewhat, its adverse medical effects are still creating a significant public healthcare burden, most especially in emerging economies. The introduction of multiple innovations in healthcare technologies in recent years, however, has facilitated the ability of practitioners to improve patient care in more efficient ways, including responses to the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of a recent study by Kodali and Das (2021) was to evaluate the range of innovative digital healthcare-related technologies as well as how they are currently being used and what constraints exist to their widespread adoption by practitioners.

The range of healthcare-related technologies that have been introduced over the past 20 years or so includes mobile health applications, telemedicine, point-of-contact devices, electronic healthcare records, clinical decision-making programs and global positioning systems, all of which have contributed to the improvement in the provision of high-quality and timely healthcare services. To their credit, the authors provide a concise but comprehensive description of each of these technologies together with an assessment concerning their ability to improve the delivery of healthcare services in various settings. In addition, Kodali and Das (2021) emphasize that various new...…care.

Finally, Kodali and Das (2021) also note that there are some significant constraints to the greater diffusion of recent technolo0gical innovations in healthcare services, including most especially economic considerations. As Kodali and Das (2021) conclude, While the opportunities are ample, the deployment of these technologies is faced with slow diffusion, limited adoption, digital illiteracy, technical, human resource and financial challenges (p. 642). In sum, the authors present a useful assessment concerning the uptake and diffusion of recent technological innovations in healthcare services as well as what challenges still remain to realizing the full range of benefits that can accrue to their…

Medical Care Perhaps the single biggest blessing that any individual can thank his or her stars for is a sense of physiological and psychological well being that allows for the optimal utilization of one's lifetime. Medical Care Influenced by Civil War and Crimean Italian Unification Wars that Immediately Preceded the U.S. Civil War The objective of this study is to examine how medical care influenced the Civil War and Crimean Italian Unification Wars that Immediately Preceded the U.S. Civil War. Inpatient EPO doses were not easily determinable as they are not billed differently to Medicare. The use of outpatient EPO only may be underestimating the total use of the medication. The cohort dealt with the biasness

Medical care at Home Vs. Medical Care at the HospitalAround 4.5 million people in the United States require end-of-life or long-term care annually. Also, the United States has, in a pretty big way, changed healthcare delivery perspectives within the last few years (Bentur, 13). Though there are significant changes in how healthcare payments are made, where the healthcare is delivered has equally undergone substantial changes as more care continues to

Collaboration It would probably make sense to a lot of people that nurses and physicians should work together to provide the highest level of medical care to their patients. However, it would seem that there are a lot of instances where this collaboration simply does not happen. The end result from this lack of communication and collaboration is that patients end up suffering injuries or even death. Given that, it

Adverse reaction to drugs is "a significantly unpleasant or dangerous response caused by an intervention that is linked with using some kind of medicine, which predicts danger from future usage and assures prevention or a particular kind of treatment, a dosage regimen modification, or withdrawing from the drug" (Edwards & Aronson, 2000).
