¶ … leadership skills, chosen project manager project. Your order business project manager development scope statement. Your boss asked sales deliverables. You met sales manager a general sense support sales team require product.
The main purpose of the marketing and sales departments is to provide product specifications, photographs of products, pricing structures and some of the marketing materials (not in their entirety, since these are created jointly with the sister company). The meeting will thus focus on developing the necessary requirements for the sales and marketing departments in terms of what they need to do in the next period of time in all these areas, with the responsibilities, deliverables, exclusions and assumptions.
Deliverables
For each of the four mentioned areas, deliverables need to be established, as such:
product specifications: (1) create a list with the product's most important characteristic (sales team, consulting the production team); (2) summarize the list of characteristics, determining solely those that are likely to market well (marketing team); (3) continuously coordinate with other teams in order to produce the deliverables (weekly meeting between all teams);
- photographs of products: the marketing team will create 50 different photographs of the products, covering different sizes, positions and perspectives of the product;
- pricing structures: (1) create a market analysis, including pricing schemes used by other competitors; (2) create a consumer analysis, including market segmentation, to determine the structure of consumer demand; (3) develop a pricing strategy, using the information and input from deliverables 1 and 2;
- marketing materials: (1) create a design for the marketing materials, potentially using some of the photographs made in one of the separate deliverables; (2) create a draft of the marketing materials, to be discussed in meetings with teams from the sister company, for the final decisions and implementation on design and marketing materials.
Exclusions
The marketing and sales teams are not in charge with the actual production process, other than the product specifications. The teams are also not in charge with any of the control and feedback mechanisms associated with any of the four areas of deliverables previously touched on. Other exclusions that apply include the interaction with suppliers, distribution networks and transportation issues related to the products.
Assumptions
Assumptions made include the fact that the company is in charge with developing a draft of how the marketing materials are going to look, as well as an underlying assumption that the company has the upper hand when it comes to coordinating the marketing and sales processes.
