Lynn Tilton has been able to turn around many failing companies which show that she is an intelligent woman who knows her work very well. But I do not find her an effective leader because she doesn't appear as inspirational as a leader should be. It is true that every person has a right to assert their individuality but when you are leading huge organizations, you must demonstrate ethical and moral behavior not only through honesty but also through the way you dress, the way you communicate with others and the way you interact with employees. If employee turnover rate is so high, it shows that Tilton is doing something wrong as a leader and she doesn't fit my prototype of an effective leader. The only thing where I can give her some credit for being an effective leader is her ability to connect with lower staff like workers...

It is a rare quality to be able to connect with people who are not at the same level of education and class.
As a leader Tilton has some positive qualities. She is caring but tough, she likes to get the best out of people, she doesn't believe in conformity and that means she allows creative solutions. All this sounds good to someone who believes in an unconventional setup as such a set-up would allow creativity to grow and flourish. But in all honesty, Tilton is not a good leader when we talk about her interaction with people. An effective leader is someone who transforms people from within, who can inspire them and who can help them become a better person and a better professional. All these seem to be missing from her personality because Tilton is known for being very tough…
