¶ … high quality academic writing is very critical for the excellence of the university education. A high quality research paper assists in effectively sharing ideas and knowledge with other people. The basic structure of a quality academic paper includes: Body of the research paper (that may consist of subsections) However, the cover page should include the The introduction should consist of the problem to be discussed. The section should also discuss the response to the issue and solution the problems.

The body of the paper should evaluate whether the solution to the problem is correct. The next section discusses the body of the paper where the researcher reveals the solutions to the problems. The solutions to the problem require creating the quick outline. For example, there is a need to list the main points of the argument in this section. The points should consist of 3 to 6 points. However, there should be 2 or 3 sub-points attached to each point if the point is complex.

The assignment should be in a logical sequence where a Point A leads to Point B where point B leads to Point C. The points A, B, and C joined together should lead to solutions to point D. Table 1 reveals the example of the structure of a four-page assignment.

In this section, the researcher should discuss each point at a time and clearly. In each paragraph, each point and sub-points should be discussed clearly. At the graduate or upper undergraduate level, the researcher will need between 2 and 3 paragraphs to support and develop a point.

Each paragraph should contain between 3 and 5 sentences in a body of the paper, and the researcher should avoid a long sentence in a research paper. A long sentence should be broken into 2 or 3 shorter sentences, and a researcher should elaborate, explain, and support each point in the first sentence of each paragraph. More importantly, the researcher should support each point with quality sources. Academic paper is different from newspaper articles, a blog or a short story.

In an academic paper, a researcher should support his statements, ideas, or points collected from other people with references and citations. The citation is very essential when a researcher draws from other's people ideas. While the citations are in the body of the paper, the reference is at the end of the paper listed on a separate page. However, the citation is usually short and consist of author's last name and publication's date.

For example, Patrick (2010) argues that increasing number of banks in the United States are seeking for the services of the Information Security experts to protect their data warehouse. Other citation's example is: According to Ben (2012), an effective method to enhance organizational network security system is by using the combination firewall, IDS (intrusion detection system) IPS (intrusion prevention system) and encryptions. A protection of information systems is an effective tool that banks can employ to enhance competitive market advantages. (Ben, 2012).

However, when a researcher is using multiple sources, it is critical to cite the sources in an alphabetic order listed at the of the sentence. An example below reveals the instant of using multiple sources: Information security specialists believe that an investment in bank security is an effective strategy to increase the customer base. (Allen, 2009; Jones, 2010; Smith, 2012). However, when a researcher uses a source written by one person, the citation strategy is as follows: (Peter, Allen, & Jones, 2009).

When there is no date and author in a source, for example when citing a web page, the research should cite the web page as revealed below: http://www.apastyle.org/learn/index.aspx A researcher should cite a source when referring to the concepts or.
