Industrialization in Europe increased the development of machines, production of goods and new energy resources of other societies. However, it had many positive and negative effects to the society. The building of new empires enabled Europe to gain access to their armies, exports, finances and strategic locations. The paper will analyze how Industrialization in Europe led to imperialist conquest of other societies and what made the European Armies so effective against native resistance.

There are various reasons why industrialization in Europe led to imperialist conquest of other societies. The first reason was the availability of larger consumer markets. Industrialization in Europe allowed other countries in spreading their influence to weaker countries. Because of the spread, the industrialized countries managed to create markets for the manufactured products along with producing some specific products to be sold in these markets. The second reason was the availability of raw materials that was used in maintaining the industrial economy. Most people believed that industrial revolution started in the Great Britain, which looked powerful than other countries but small in terms of population and the available resources. These provided the country with an incentive of colonizing other nations where there were excess raw materials rather than paying for the available materials (The British Empire, 2003). The third reason was as a result of industrial revolution which made it easier for people to travel far distances compared to the past. The Steam ship invention also cut the travel time making people to reach their destinations as fast as possible. This allowed the Great Britain to start exploiting their colonies more than before. With the establishment of the colonies in places like Ottoman Empire, it was so imperative that they were in position of reaching those places in efficient way (The British Empire, 2003).

Industrial revolution brought a great change in Europe drastically. Industrial revolution made Europeans more superior technologically. Their technology included machine guns, flamethrowers, artillery, bolt-action riffles, hand grenades and so on. These were very powerful and superior as compared to the weapons that the native warriors were using. Among the weapons that the native warriors were using were wooden and stone weapons as well as straw shields. The weapons that the European armies used were very powerful they had the ability to kill many people at a go. The native warriors were easily overpowered by the European armies. They destroyed their weapons easily as they were more advantaged since their weapons could destroy the weapons that the natives were using. The European armies launched the hand grenades on groups of the warriors which killed a large number of them at a single instance. The native warriors could not defend themselves efficiently against the armies as they were very strong compared to them when it came to the weapons.
