¶ … Japanese and Chinese forces battled against each other from 1937-1945 to gain control of the Chinese mainland. The Communist China defeated the Nationalist Japan and this incident gave birth to a number of other conflicts. United States entered into the Sino-Japanese War after the Japanese attack on the Pearl Harbor. China declared war on Germany and Italy as well. Thus, the World War II began. China was helped by the United States and Britain who gave it immense loans and supplies. The two Super Powers also established their military air bases in China. With the help of America and Britain, China was able to overpower the Japanese troops ("Sino-Japanese War, Second").

Cold War

Cold War is the difference of opinion between the Soviet Union-led Communist Nations and the United States-led Egalitarian nations. Nations all over the world involve themselves in cold war through half truths, economic conflicts, diplomatic negotiations and infrequent armed fights. Though the United States and USSR were Allies in the World War II, they were not on good terms even before its beginning. With the end of the War, their differences intensified and the nations who were allies started to be against each other (Chung).

After Europe, Asia turned out to be the second major place where the Cold War had its main effects. Europe was more important for both America and Russia. The former allies became opponents immediately after the end of World War II. United States and USSR both had their unique interests in Europe to maintain their power and secure their economy. The Western Europe was under direct influence of the United States whereas the U.S.S.R. manipulated the Eastern Europe. However, the continent of Asia did not have much importance for the two competitors. Unfortunately, about six million soldiers and civilians lost their precious lives in the conflicts in Korea and Indo-China...

...

The Cold War spread throughout the world in June 1950 when Korean War started. This war was the first conflict in which American forces and Russian forces faced each other directly (McMahon 35).
If truth be told, both the powers wanted to destroy each other's ideology. USSR believed that conflict between communism and capitalism cannot be avoided. On the other hand, United States had a firm faith that peace can only be achieved if communism is ended (Mason 71). In the earlier phase of the Cold War, America's anti-communism behavior became known to the world. America considered The Czech coup (1948), the Berlin Blockade (1948-9), China's defeat by the Communists (1949) and the Korean War (1950-3) as a conspiracy by the U.S.S.R. At a global level. The United States government also believed that China controls Vietnam and is controlled by Russia. It is because of this belief that America did not withdraw in Vietnam War. During the conflict in Vietnam War, there arose a border clash between China and Russia. The U.S. government took advantage of this clash and opened up dialogue with the Chinese government. The diplomacy between China, USA and USSR developed during 1970s due to these events (Mason 72).

During 1980s, great changes occurred not in United States but in Russia. Gorbachev, the Soviet Union broad-minded leader, refused to be on bad terms with the West and asked for the Cold War to be ended. He suppressed the American containment policy by taking the first step to end the Cold War. Due to his initiative, several events in 1989 revolutionized the status of the Cold War. It can be easily said that the Cold war began and ended in the Eastern Europe. The Cold War ended with the Russian military forces removal from the Eastern Europe (Mason 73).

Yet, under the circumstances that shall be explained in the following paragraphs, a re-vote is considered
