Explain how and where are your products or services produced?

The subway shop located in a busy strip mall consisting of a Chinese takeout restaurant, a flower shop, a beauty parlour, and a FedEx/Kinko's store will focus on the production of quality sandwiches and drinks. The subway shop will be called McLarens' shop. The production of the products and services will be within the rental premises in the mall. In order to achieve objective, our company will purchase, on a daily basis, fresh fruits (not bruised or damaged), meat, poultry, and seafood for the production process. The organization will focus on hiring qualified expertise in order to address the needs and preferences of the consumers. This approach will enhance the image and reputation of the developing business entity within and across the mall for the purposes of generation of revenues and profits at the end of the financial year. To accompany the food products, the organization will also engage in the production and distribution of soft drinks and blended juices. This will be vital in addressing diversity of our targeted consumers thus an opportunity to develop in relation to significant reputation and image. This is an indication that soft drinks will be imported from manufacturers such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi to sustain the plan for fruit-blending within the premises.

Production techniques and costs

In order to minimize the cost of production and time, our organization will adopt and implement batch production technique. This relates to the execution of quality and effective research exercise with the aim of identifying the needs and preferences of the consumers. This will facilitate production in large batches for the production of numerous diverse products within a similar line of production. This production technique is vital in minimizing the amount of time essential during production and distribution of the products. Batch production technique is essential in the realization of the objectives and goals of our business which relates to the maximization of the available opportunities. This production technique is applicable in the case of the new subway shop within the mall because of the implementation of same machinery in the production process. The only change that is vital for the process is the variation of the ingredients or sizes required for the production of quality food products and drinks.

Quality control

Quality control technique is one of the most effective and efficient approaches in the minimization of the cost of production and waste. This is vital in the improvement of the level of revenues and profit levels at the end of the financial year. Our organization will adopt and implement acceptance sampling as the most effective and efficient quality control mechanism. This relates to the cost and benefits analysis of the concept within the organization. In this case, the quality control manager will inspect a random sample of the products with the aim of determining the quality levels of the entire production. The results of the inspection process will determine acceptance or rejection of the products from which the sample was withdrawn. In order to ensure that the process and technique is effective, the process will be simultaneous and spontaneous.

Customer service

Customer service technique is an essential component of production process because of the need to focus on the preferences and wants of the consumers. The needs and preferences of the consumers will be the focus of our business entity. This is an indication of the need to develop an efficient customer service through hotlines and functioning websites for the purposes of addressing the queries of the consumers. These attributes will focus on addressing the need and complaints from the consumers with the aim of enhancing the process of service delivery and production process.

Inventory control

Inventory control ensures that business entities have the right goods on hand with the aim of avoiding stock-outs thus preventing shrinkage and proper accounting. Business entities have limited resources thus the need for the realization of effectiveness and efficiency in the service and product delivery. It is ideal to note that inventory control would enhance its operations through achievement of efficiency. Our organization will adopt and implement the eyeball system as the inventory control mechanism. This will involve monitoring of the operations of the organization by the key manager. This is vital in the examination of the stock for the purposes of reordering in case of shortage. This will limit or minimize essence of surpluses or shortages within the market.

This is vital for the maximization of the goals and objectives of the organization thus an opportunity for increasing the volume of profits and revenues.

It is highly crucial for the suppliers and transporters to access our location for the purposes of efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery. This is ideal for minimization of the cost of supplies and transportation purposes thus the need for accessibility of our location for the new business entity. It is also ideal for the suppliers to have access to our new business entity for the purpose of convenience and faster movement of goods and resources. This will facilitate critical addressing of the consumer needs and preferences while minimizing the cost of production and distribution of goods and services to the target audiences.

There is need for easy walk-in access for the purposes of addressing the needs of the consumers visiting other business entities within the busy strip mall.
