¶ … Stage Play The Meeting" Dramaticwriter At rise, a lone park bench sits at a bus stop on an empty stage. A young man enters. He is Tom. He sits down on the park bench and opens up his newspaper. A moment goes by. A pretty young woman enters up right, she crosses to the bench hesitantly. She sits down. She is Jenny. Jenny stare straight forward, clutching her purse. Tom looks at her curiously. He likes what he sees. He looks back at his paper. Jenny looks at Tom curiously.

She likes what she sees. She looks back forward. A moment goes by. They both look at each other simultaneously. They immediately look away, aware that they were caught glancing at one another. Another moment goes by.) JENNY: I.. I don't know how to say this TOM: What? JENNY: I just got out of a serious relationship. TOM: Oh? JENNY: Yeah. TOM: That's nice. Tom looks back at his newspaper.) JENNY: I thought you'd want to know. TOM: Well I didn't. JENNY: Well you were looking at me.

TOM: I think you were looking at me. JENNY: Yeah. That's not how it was. TOM: Wasn't it. JENNY: I came in here and TOM: And? JENNY: You're a pig. TOM: Whatever. JENNY: You weren't looking at me? TOM: Why would you want a pig looking at you? JENNY: I'm sorry. TOM: That's okay. JENNY: You waiting for the bus? TOM: I'm sitting at a bus stop. What do you think? JENNY: You are a pig. TOM: And you're kinda' cute. JENNY: What? TOM: Nothing.
