¶ … personally affected by slavery and the effect that it had on both sides of the story (both the slave and the slave owner). The document fits into the historical context by giving a personal account of what happened during those times. To vividly paint a first hand account of the scene, the mood, and the conversation that took place. The document can be considered as an actual account of events how the story reads. By giving an account of the time, which allows the reader to understand what was going on, how relationships were between different groups of people, and expresses the varying classes that exist.
