To be part of something that I can give my absolute one hundred percent to, along with having the perpetual opportunity to challenge myself to learn and grow, is a dream that any driven person intricately decorates through the course of their life. Whether one aspires to become an economist or whether one wishes to join the military, their dream is built on ambition and hope that they will find their place in something they consider their niche. My niche, if I am being perfectly honest is being challenged. I have always wanted to blend my scientific background with a chance to explore which is primarily why radiologic technology is the path for me! My interest in Radiologic Technology stems from the fact that it is absolutely quintessential when it comes to the medical field. As we know, it is used for the production of images of all the organs of the body with the help of a very concentrated beam of radiation. (Bergen Community College) It is as such, in my opinion no less than art combined to science. And therefore is the ultimate opportunity to augment the medical experience with aesthetic sensibility.

This particular technology transcends image production and also extends into the branch of Interventional Radiology, which happens to be the process of discovering, diagnosing and ultimately treating a condition. In other words, Radiologic Technology is the art of treating the most serious of conditions without having to perform surgery. This is my primary reason of interest in the trade, for it is a means of helping people without exposing them to any form of actual danger. As a medical practitioner I always wanted to help people, and play my part in enhancing the quality of human life. Radiologic Technology gives me the hope of doing just that! To be able to discover, diagnose and treat a condition would be the complete medical occurrence, which I would love to excel in. Radiologic Technology is the primary method to abet any medical procedure, for it establishes the conditions seeking treatment. To be a part of that foundation, to help patients take the first step in saving their life, would be an honor I would be thrilled to partake in.

Furthermore, the fact that Radiologic Technology is not only confined to detecting the certain organ structure, but also lends a hand in uncovering a wide range of bodily situations, drives me to work towards finding my very own specialty. The wide spectrum of themes from 'Plain Film Radiology' to the presently pertinent 'Mammography', is enough to make anyone highly stimulated by the job, for it offers one the chance to venture out in any field of specialization, and ultimately learn much more than initially foreseen. The prospect of continual learning is perhaps the most lucrative one. And Radiologic Technology, as a progressive technology, offers me that prospect by default!

Radiologic Technology has achieved an indispensable status in the medical field over the course of time. Every single remedial advice is authenticated by Radiology, so much so that it is fair to articulate that medical processes are incomplete without this type of technology. Radiology is not just a branch of the medical field; it is an inclusive career option that people need to acquire a special set of skills for. It would not only be a daily adventure to learn about diverse cases and literally see within the human body for the wonder that it is, but also a perfect career for someone as inquisitive as me. My reason for opting for this science would be reinforced tenfold every time I would try to decipher the meaning of a captivating image of what lies within.

Another reason why I always wanted to be a Radiology Technologist is that they combine the knowledge of anatomy, mathematics and physiology to diagnose various medical conditions, thereby laying the first building block in ensuring patient care. They are, as such, all-rounders! And this quality of being complete experts in interdisciplinary as well as communicational skills is something that I deem will make me an all-rounder too. They are the first practitioners that a patient has to come across and hence they are mavens in interpersonal dexterity. And since I always took pride in my people's skills, I know for a fact that this job would come naturally to me. I am fortunate enough to consider both communication and technological sophistication my forte, and be highly motivated by this grand challenge.
