I wonder about the resistance of Filioque by the Eastern Church and why it was such an important matter that the Eastern Church would resist it while the Western Church would ultimately embrace it, as is noted on p. 267: The Filioque was resisted by the East from the beginning, was condemned by Patriarch Photius of Constantinople in 867, and figured prominently in the mutual exchange of anathemas in 1054 that accelerated the break between Eastern and Western Churches.

One thing from todays reading that will make me a better minister is the appreciation of this line: in order to participate in this love that God is and has for us, our own actions must mirror it (p. 284). This is because it really gets to the heart of what being a Christian minister isto reflect Gods love to others and to be another Christ in person so that others can see Christ through me.
