Adverse Childhood Experience

In my opinion, there are many things that were done right in the video. This is more so the case with regard to tone and facial expressions. In as far as tone is concerned, it would be prudent to note that this particular element of nonverbal communication was effectively used in the video specifically in the creation of a relaxed environment and establishment of friendly relations. Facial expressions were effectively used to demonstrate continued interest in the engagement. However, there are a couple of areas that in my opinion need to be polished up. For instance, I believe that paraphrasing was not used effectively. This could have come in handy in seeking to develop better understanding of the clients point of view on multiple factors.

To a large extent, tone was deployed in an effective manner in this case. This is more so the case in an attempt to demonstrate mindfulness and compassion. Eye contact was also maintained in what could be deemed an effective manner. This is to say that effort was made to ensure that normal eye contact was maintained which in my opinion was instrumental in efforts to indicate or demonstrate genuine and constant interest in the conversation. The posture adopted also helped ease interactions on this front, i.e. by via the adoption of a comfortable pose as well as by leaning forward slightly. However, it is important to note that in my opinion, paraphrasing was also not deployed in an effective manner. My assertion is on this front based on the perspective that the therapist should not appear as if they are parroting the clients every phrase. Instead, the aim ought to be the development of better perspective of the clients statement and could, when used effectively, be a potent way to clarify concerns or issues.

Childhood Experience Childhood place: Past and present When I was very young, my maternal grandmother was the host of every family get-together. My parents and I would drive what seemed like an eternity on the highway to get to her small, slightly shabby corner house. My grandmother was very set in her ways and didn't like to change things, so the house had remained relatively the same in its exterior appearance and

Adverse Childhood Experiences A female colleague of mine was subjected to sexual abuse as young children, and she suffered severe emotional trauma as a result of that abuse. "Gloria," was unlucky to have an alcoholic father, who would come home late at night, very drunk, go into her room, fondle her, suck her little breasts, and insist that she play with his private parts. In my own childhood I was beaten

Otherwise, he would just sit comfortably in my hand, holding whatever he was eating between his front paws, periodically rotating it for the best biting angle. In addition to the original Habitrail ™ setup, I also built Mickey a more secluded dungeon-like underground "basement," gluing my old, children's building blocks together to make the walls. I kept making the walls higher by adding more and more blocks, and eventually its

This study determined that the amount of time spent in full-time daycare was positively correlated with the number of friends children had as well as their participation in extracurricular activities. Also, more time spent in daycare was positively correlated to parents' ratings of popularity, leadership, the children's emotional well-being, and assertiveness, and was negatively correlated to ratings of aggressiveness. Based on these findings, it could be concluded that participation

" Hence, images of children are often used to "reproach the rest of the adult world for its misdemeanours"; and in presenting that picture, children connote "both the future and a moral voice of the 'good self'..." Burman generalizes that the "universalization of Northern childhood thus mirrors the Northern colonial domination of the South." And interfaced with that dynamic, she continues, is the "Christian symbolism associated with colour ("white-child-angel, black child-devil")...
