Marvanea\\\\\\\'s task of creating an electronic IV charting pathway can certainly benefit from best practices regarding data collection elements that would improve uniformity and the overall retrieval process. Some of the best practice strategies for this would include the use of standardized terminologies, using relational database models, and making sure there is data integrity and security.

Standardized terminologies can be helpful as a best practice because they keep things consistent and meaningful (Alexander et al., 2019). Using standardized clinical terminologies and coding systems, such as SNOMED CT or LOINC, helps it so that the data entered into the database is consistent and can be uniformly interpreted across different systems. This is needed for coherence and consistency, and it reduces ambiguity while also improving the way data is handled between various healthcare providers and teams. When everyone is on the same page in terms of meaning, better care results (Zhang et al., 2021).

Relational database models represent another good strategy. They are designed to minimize data redundancy and improve data integrity (Alexander et al., 2019). Relational databases store data in structured tables that can be searched to obtain reports. The use of SQL (Structured Query Language) for querying and managing the database can be a big tool for better management of data retrieval.

Most essential, however, are data integrity and security. Integrity constraints have to be there in the system, and this means having strategies within the database, such as primary and foreign keys to prevent inconsistent data entries. Security measures should protect patient data from unauthorized access and thus secure confidentiality. These best practices can improve the process of data entry and improve the accuracy and reliability of the data collected.
