Alternative Sources of Funding in Special Education In the U.S., educators have various avenues at their disposal with which they can source funds with the aim of ensuring that needy children get the necessary support while in school. Previously, a lot of the funding comes from local foundations that help schools manage to provide care to the children with disabilities across the nation. The RGK Foundation is one of the organizations that provide grants to organizations across the country.

It awards grants in the broad areas of education, the community, and health or medicine. Its mandate is to ensure that children who are disadvantaged by poverty or disability can access education and can pursue their goals regardless of the challenge. The second foundation is the Children's Guide Foundation that offers support to non-profit organizations that are active in the areas of education, medicine, and healthcare.

This is meant to ensure that children and their families can have a good life as the kids can pursue an education in the right manner. As for schools, they can also access grants from the foundation in various categories (The Children's Guide Foundation, 2016). The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is another foundation that supports schools to make sure that children who are challenged regarding both poverty and disabilities can attend school.

The grants given by the organization lie in the category of special education with the aim of ensuring that they keep running at the optimum level for the sake of the community. The organization also ensures that the children are given the community support needed for their social growth. Limitations One of the limitations that it placed on the use of the funds in all the three foundations is that the organization's funds cannot be used for special events or activities.

The same case applies to campaigns in which most of the organizations may participate. Similarly, a school cannot use the funds for debt reduction where it has accumulated some debts in the past. This means that the school has to make sure that the funds are used for a specific purpose that is inline or approved by the organization.

Emergency or disaster relief projects in schools do not form part of the areas where the funds can be used: the schools that apply must be from within the U.S.A. (RGK Foundation, 2016). Similarly, it is important to note that the foundations do not provide any long-term continuing program support n any part of the country. The implication is that any renewed support to any organization to schools is based on the reports that are received and reviewed by the organization.

One of the things that the foundations do is to ensure that the sites are visited to ascertain that all the funds have been used the right manner (The Children's Guide Foundation, 2016). Fiscal reporting requirements of the grant One of the things that cut across all the organizations is the fact that the foundations require timely and informative interim and final grant reporting once the grant has been given. I the guarantees must consult with the foundations grant reporting procedures that are provided by the organization.

The grant outcomes report is also an important feature when it comes to the concept of reporting on grants. One of the things that come into the light is that the report in all the three foundations must have support material that informs the grantees on the nature of the projects and the results of the projects. This means that in the case of schools, and then it has to describe the project and the activities that are undertaken because of the funds.

For example, if the school asked for funds to increase the enrollment of the school, then it has to show that the number of students with disabilities enrolled in the school has increased (RGK Foundation, 2016). The school management must also give details of the impact of the outcomes of the project or the station and for the community as a whole.

The grant financial is another report that is important that the organization requires the schools to fill if they are looking forward to receiving the same award for a second and subsequent time. It is expected that the schools will make use of financial management process that is meant to ensure an accurate recording of the expenditure (The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, 2016). Fiscal Management of the Funds This process ensures that the money is used appropriately.

One of the things that the organizations do is to check on the budgets set by the schools and requests a revision in case there are some irregularities. Similarly, the project financial reports are meant to be filled throughout the project with the aim of making sure that most of the schools can use the funds in the right manner without any incidences of mismanagement. The foundations also require that the expenditure matches with the original budget categories.

It is also important to note that it is a requirement of the organization that the funds given in grants ought to be used within the set period. Another measure that has been put in place is the requirement of a procurement program in the schools. This means that the guarantees ought to have a clear way from which they purchase their goods and services.

In case the foundation pays a site visit, it is required that the school will provide the contracts and the time documentation of the hired services and invoices and purchase orders. In the case of adjustments in the budget, the same must be documented and the same communicated to the foundation to make sure that there is no conflict that occurs between the schools and the foundation once the project is complete.

Another method that is in place is the property management requirement where all the equipment bought with the funds from the grants must be properly managed and used for the right benefits (RGK Foundation, 2016). Sustainability issues The funding systems that were found are efficient based on the current number of funds that the organization provides. However, it is still unclear on the.
