Looks like you have a great idea for a qualitative research project: the design makes sense, the data collection process is detailed, and the overall problem that you want to explore is one that needs exploring (Jones & Solomon, 2019). I found the reference to Solomon to be most interesting, as he is best known for his wisdom, and research is about obtaining greater insight. Yet I think there is also a cautionary tale to remember when it comes to Solomon: 1 Kings 11:9-10 states "The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.” In our search for understanding, we must be careful not to displease God by turning our hearts away from Him. Earthly understanding is nothing in comparison to having the love and peace of God.

Burnout among K-12 teachers is a great topic for exploration in a qualitative study, especially now as teaching is only getting harder (Sandmeier et al., 2022). For gaining insights, it is appropriate to interview a small sample as you have chosen to do, but another option could also be to do a phenomenological study, as your mother is a teacher and you could really gain insight into her experiences and challenges. Another idea to possibly think about when coming up with a framework is this bible verse from 2 Timothy 3:16-17: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." This verse emphasizes the importance of using Scripture as a foundation for teaching, as well as for personal growth and development in living a righteous life. It could be that if teachers are feeling burned out, maybe there is a disconnection between the Word of God about how to approach teaching and what is going on in the classrooms of schools.
