Assessment of Technology Adoption By
Small and Medium-Sized Logistics Providers
The adoption of technologies for streamlining and unifying supply chains globally continues to show promise as a means to take supplier coordination and product quality to a new level transparency and velocity. Of the many aspects of technology adoption throughout supply chains, the contributory effects of information and communication technologies (ICT) in third party logistics providers (3PL) has become a leading indicator of an industry's ability to adapt to turbulent market conditions (Brah, Lim, 2006). Despite the many benefits of adopting technologies in 3 PLs and across supply chains, there are many factors that limit their use. The study Technology Adoption in Small and Medium-Sized Logistics Providers (Evangelista, McKinnon, Sweeney, 2013) highlights the challenges small and medium logistics providers face in adopting ICT-based solutions throughout their businesses. The study centers on existing ICT adoption in small and medium 3PL services providers, concentrating on the process areas that are most well-attuned to automation. As supply chains become increasingly global and complex, the need for greater technology integration at the 3PL level becomes essential for profitable operation (Bourlakis, Bourlakis, 2005). The role of 3 PLs was established decades ago as a critical building block in successful supply chains (Kerr, 1989). The methodology of this study concentrates on these issues with the goal of determining which factors most limit technology adoption across the fastest-growing strategy of 3PL providers, the small and medium-sized businesses breaking into new markets.

A comparative study of logistic operation in the military vs. commercial organization The past two decades have witnessed drastic transformations in civilian as well as military logistical settings. The commercial sector has been transformed by mass retailing, technological advancements, deregulation impacts, supply chains, etc. which have posed challenges to the commercial logistical setting. Simultaneously, military logisticians saw the Cold War era and associated strategies, a whole new kind of enemy, evolving
Mapping logistics technologies to the service strategies and objectives of the university will accelerate our organization to its e-commerce objectives while increasing customer satisfaction (Wells, Phaal, Farrukh, Probert, 2004). Technologies aligned to services objectives can deliver an exceptional increase in e-commerce user experience and customer satisfaction. This ability to streamline the potential student experience online can be augmented and accelerated using logistics systems and providers in the back-office systems
" (Brown, 1996, p. 74) That potential of globalization can be attributed directly to the current business processes working to its fullest capabilities. Some may think that these trends towards globalization are new to the twentieth or twenty-first centuries. In a sense that is true because of the fact that our current globalization phenomenon can be linked with the advent of our new technology, financial methods and distribution channels to any
There are several kinds of scenarios. However, in this paper, we limit our discussion to the decision-driven and vision-driven scenarios as proposed in the work of Courtney (2003). We however extend this discussion to involve the three levels of performance as proposed by Rummler and Brache (1995). The argument of course is based on the general consensus that the vision-driven scenarios are best suited for issues occurring at the organizational level

Inventory Management Strategy. In his book, Streetwise Project Management, Dobson (2003) advocates the use of a just-in-time inventory management strategy to keep inventories low and manufacturing process more productive. This approach, though, will require close coordination with a Brazilian supplier, warehousing operations, planners and forecasters, and transportation directors throughout the inventory management process. In this regard, Epps (1995) advises, that such an approach requires the efficient transportation of materials from
