Motivations, expectations, and career goals in graduate programs

MISMProgram have finally discovered the apex of educational investment management and desire for myself the benefits derived from completing such a stringent, yet enlightening program. My undergraduate studies pried my eyelids apart to let in a glimmer of the light that I thought would be my guide throughout a long and lustrous career, and now I have ascertained that entering the MSIM program would allow an even greater light to wash over my entire body and soul, filling me with the knowledge necessary to achieve my dreams, goals and objectives.

My expectations concerning my attempt at completing this MISM program is that I will enter the investment world fully equipped to battle the ups and downs of every financial instrument, able to create new financial products, understand tried and true concepts, and critique them all with a discerning eye as to their redeeming features and characteristics. I expect that the knowledge I gain through attending each course in this program will give me further insight into what my clients, myself and my company will all expect from the investment recommendations and choices that I make.

The career goals that I have set for myself are ones that will entail much work, a due amount of diligence and large dose of perseverance to travel through the travails of a rocky investment industry. Those goals include becoming a professional portfolio manager with a respected firm on Wall Street. The allure of such a distinguished career can only be enhanced by a firm foundation in the basics in which I have already gained an understanding. To achieve the highest dreams, however, would take additional study and knowledge that I am fully capable of garnering, if given the opportunity.

That opportunity is the MISM program as portrayed by the respectability, the reputation and the aura by which the program is surrounded. I have completed the steps necessary to reach this point, and after much deliberation and research ascertained that the natural next step in my progression is by being accepted, working at, and finally, completing the MISM program.

I'm fully aware of the fact that a distinguished program such as the one in which I am attempting to be accepted is a challenge to even the most astute investment advisor, and with that awareness, I accept that challenge and feel that I am the type of individual that will do whatever it takes to succeed, and look forward to the challenge. The motto by which I have always judged myself has been 'strive to be the best, be challenged by the rest' and I though I have not been successful in every endeavor, I have found that I learned through my 'failures' as well as my successes. I now know that in my life I will be faced with a variety of situations that will help me to progress, and I know that the MISM program will assist me in a very progressive way.
