Because the Microsoft platform will be utilized, the relational database management system will fall within the SQL Server environment. Specifically, SQL Server 2000 SR2 will be used, as it is a complete database and data analysis system that is fully web-enabled and supports XML and queries across the Internet. Data elements in the TFCISP will be stored in the form of simple tables, with linked data elements from various tables providing quick access to information for process owners and users. This approach will enable the Development and Implementation Team to store voluminous data logically without consuming excessive storage space.
