What is Brazil?

Brazil is one of the most studied countries in academic curricula spanning political science, economics, geography, cultural studies, and international business. As the largest nation in Latin America and one of the world's major emerging economies, it presents a rich subject for analysis across disciplines. Students are drawn to Brazil because it sits at the intersection of complex forces: rapid economic development, deep social inequality, political transformation, and significant cultural influence. Its role within Latin America makes it a reference point for understanding regional patterns of governance, trade, and social change.

The papers collected on this topic reflect a wide range of analytical approaches. Some take a cultural angle, examining Brazilian music traditions such as samba as expressions of national identity. Others engage economic geography, using globalization as a framework to analyze how Brazil and neighboring countries develop and compete. Policy-focused work appears as well, with essays exploring biofuels, supply chain dynamics, and how global market pressures affect industries tied to the region. Comparative politics papers position Brazil alongside other non-western nations to assess government structures and democratic development.

A strong essay on Brazil requires a clearly scoped thesis that commits to one dimension — economic, cultural, political, or social — rather than attempting to survey the entire country. Evidence drawn from specific industries, government policies, or regional comparisons within Latin America tends to carry the most analytical weight. The most common pitfall is treating Brazil as a monolith; effective essays acknowledge internal diversity and avoid generalizations that flatten the country's considerable regional and social variation.

The effective planning means that there are alternatives between choices, and managers execute the best option which resolves the problem. In this report we will discuss the usefulness of rationale decision making for managers while making strategic choices. The roles of global managers and their decision making limits will be highlighted. The discussion related to the cross-cultural synergy and ethical dilemmas in making rational decision. Bontempo, Triandis, & Lobel, (1990) has demonstrated that decision options manager select can be affected through motivational proclivity. Strategic supervision is the process of managerial decision and course of action which investigates the long-term performance of the company. It involves the scanning of environment, strategic formulation, strategic implementation and assessment. This report of rational decision making for managers hence emphasizes the patrolling and assessment of the threats and opportunities in the light of company's strengths and weaknesses Hunger & Wheelen, 12th edition).

US Hegemony and the Continuity of Imperial Foreign Policy
To state that there are no fundamental differences between international politics in 1900-45 and afterwards would be to carry the argument to an extreme, even though the continuities are greater than the discontinuities. Above all else, the liberal, democratic states and empires in the U.S. and Western Europe were highly interventionist and aggressive in the developing world and Global South long before World War II, and this did not change in the Cold War and post-Cold War eras. Even governments that were democratically elected were sometimes overthrown and replaced by more pliable regimes, such as the ‘friendly' dictators of Central America and the Caribbean. At the same time, though, there has also been far more harmony and cooperation between the Great Powers since 1945 than in the previous fifty years, especially through NATO and the European Union. America's alliance with Japan, Britain, France and Germany has survived various stresses and strains over the decades, and even the collapse of the Soviet Union, and this requires an explanation. None of the imperial powers has fought a major war since the invention of nuclear weapons, even though they have intervened frequently against the non-nuclear states of the developing world. Perhaps this alliance is explained by political and ideological affinities, as liberals maintain, or by cultural affinities as opposed to Muslim and Orthodox civilizations, as Samuel Huntington explains—although admittedly Japan is left as quite an outlier here.
