Components of HIS and different kind of users

Information systems databases and architectural systems have been used in the healthcare systems of many countries. A number of reasons are associated with an increased usage of these systems in the healthcare. The aim of this paper is to critically analyze the concepts given by Vicky Liu, Jason Smith, Zi Hao Ng, William Caelli, Lauren May, Min Hui Lee, Jin Hong Foo and Weihao Li in the article published in 2010. The article has mentioned that cross indexing systems are one of the most important activities in the healthcare systems. indexing systems make use of certain unique identifiers that are provided to the consumers of healthcare and healthcare providers based on which the indexing systems can be used to access medical records. The author has no doubt mentioned the importance of indexing systems but to start with, one of main fact that has not been mentioned is that indexing systems have been used in the healthcare systems since many years and since the beginning, perfection has been added in these systems realizing the fact that patient record privacy is more important. When the beginning of the article is read in detail, it can be seen that the importance of patient privacy has not been stressed and only preliminary attention has been given to yet an important issue.

CIO Briefing: Process of Health Care Information System Selection and Organizational Goals

This paper explores some of the best and well-known cites and sites around the world for information and health care. Early in the 21st century, the World Health Organization made its first attempt to rank the quality of health care in approximately 200 countries. (NYT, 2007) The WHO ranked the countries' health care based on factors such as fairness, quality, access, insurance coverage, patient satisfaction, and use of information technology among other factors. (NYT, 2007) According to this research, some of countries in the world that provide the best health care overall are France, Italy, Malta, Japan, and Monaco, among others. (NYT, 2007) As much as the United States of America boasts at being the best in the world at nearly everything, United States health care was not in even the top thirty countries ranked by the WHO. Even still, there are a number of specialised centres within nearly every country, no matter its rank, that provides exceptional care and is a worthy contribution to the health community whether in real life or virtually.

Business Intelligence is such a wide-ranging and hotly developing field that a number of lessons can be learned from simply observing several companies' experiences with BI development. In the cases of Marchfield Clinic and Exclusive Resorts, at least 10 lessons can be discerned. The title of this research article is Integrating Fingerprint Verification into the Smart Card-Based Healthcare Information System and it was published in 2009. This research article was a result of the efforts put in by Daesung Moon, Yongwha Chung, Sung Bum Pan and Jin-Won Park. Due to the increase in very large scale integration technology, smart cards, which are credit card sized plastic cards embedded with memory inside a chip were introduced. These smart cards are able to store all information which is personal and is not shared with others. This research paper describes where the use of a smart card is applied in healthcare information systems and how integrating the use of smart cards is different from the usual ways in which patient information is gathered. In order to obtain relevant patient data, connection to the hospital database is necessary. This, however, is not possible in cases where connections are not available for example in ambulances and therefore having smart cards reduces the chances of not being able to get relevant patient data on time.
