What privacy rights issues must be addressed?
Over the last few years, the issues of privacy and employee testing have been increasingly brought to the forefront. This is because firms are requiring more of their applicants and want to see if they are a good fit for the organization (based upon intense competition from the global workplace). In the case of Lockheed Martin, there are a number of privacy rights that must be taken into consideration to include: the use of third party providers and determining the impact of the test on the facility. ("Avoiding Legal Issues in Pre-Employment Testing," 2009)
The use of third party providers is designed to give firms with the ability to distance themselves from the testing process. As these organizations will administer the exam and they are careful about what kinds of data is collected from employees. Moreover, they also have policies in…

This continues act as a barrier to entry for aerospace manufacturers located throughout Asia, specifically China, who are looking to capitalize on increased government spending on defense. The costs associated with hiring, retaining employees and funding security clearances for employees in this industry makes recruitment and retention critical. As a result of all these factors combined the barriers to entry are exceptionally high in the global military aerospace products manufacturing industry.
Buyer Power
Contrary to the significant power aerospace manufacturers have over suppliers, buyers in this industry dominate accounting and costing standards, procedures and systems; prototype development, product validation and testing; product quality levels and pricing. The competitive strength of Lockheed is exemplified in their ability to keep the F-22 Program moving forward despite many delays attributable to design changes and cost reductions as defined by Congress over the life of the program (Browning, Heath, 2009). Buyers also can define…

There is an emerging set of new technologies for online marketing collectively called Web 2.0 marketing techniques and are profiled in Appendix a of this memo. These technologies allow for a much more interactive communication with customers, and while the Lockheed Martin customer base is quite conservative, the use of web services that combine multiple areas of interest to them (called Mashups in Web 2.0 vernacular) that bring insights into the company's product lines would be of significant value to both customers and prospects. In addition, the use of Real Simple Syndication (RSS) for publishing news from the company would also be very valuable for supporting online marketing strategies. The online marketing strategy also needs to include extensive use Google AdWords which can significantly increase the company's performance in that search engines' performance. Columbus (2006) specifically defines the strategies necessary for ensuring Google AdWords is a highly effective online strategy.…
Compensation Philosophy
The current compensation philosophy of Lockheed Martin is based on a pay for performance ideal (Hartung, 2010). However, there is more to the issue than just paying for a person's performance. That performance (and pay) is based on the market, and how well the individual's performance contributed to the overall objectives of the company. Its goals are generally very clear, and those employees who work hard enough to help the company showcase and reach those goals are the ones who are going to be compensated at the highest level (Hartung, 2010). While a lower level of performance may not be enough to have an employee fired or laid off, it can be enough to ensure that the person does not receive as much compensation as other employees who work at higher levels on a consistent basis. Despite the high quality of the compensation plan, there is one flaw…

Strategic Alliance
There are a number of reasons why companies engage in strategic alliances. Typically, these are rooted in the idea of comparative advantage, where the two companies bring their respective strengths to the project, theoretically these strengths complementing each other. There are some industries where the practice is quite common, in particular pharmaceuticals and defense. Indeed, in some of these industries, companies can have multiple strategic alliances at any given time. A good example of this is Boeing and Lockheed Martin, both defense contractors with expertise in aerospace. They have collaborated on an air transportation system for the commercial air industry (Boeing, 2007), and on jet fighters for the Department of Defense (Thompson, 2013). This paper will focus on the latter as the strategic alliance to be discussed. Ultimately, the long-range bomber project failed for the alliance, which actually highlights one of the major reasons why such alliances are…

The international scope of operations
Lockheed, Boeing, and Airbus are all in the aviation manufacturing industry. While Boeing and Airbus have popular for the manufacturer of commercial airplanes, Lockheed Martin is popular for manufacturing security and defense products. For all these companies, their operations have an international reach from suppliers to consumers. For Lockheed Martin, from the F-35 Lighting II and the C-130J aircraft to the integrated air and missile defense, commercial satellites, and cybersecurity, the firm has its operations devoted to working with customers to realize their security needs through performance-proven measures, key industrial partnerships, and an operational base that is expanded ("Lockheed Martin International," n.d.). Lockheed Martin International team has its headquarters in London in England and Washington, D.C., with corporate offices worldwide. Boeing has a global reach of customers from approximately 150 countries, employees, and operations in over 65 counties, and partnerships with more than 20,000 diverse…

(The Model 2 Organization: Making Your Company Safe for Zealots) Thus the main strength is in the organization while the weaknesses are in the diversifications that it has gone through.
To summarize, Lockheed Martin is one of the largest players in the defense industry and they are well diversified so that they can take advantage of any changes. Whatever may happen, it does not seem that the business of war is going out of fashion. The company has to continue looking out for areas in which business of war is going to get into in the future and shift their activity in that line to the extent possible.

FP Section M. Compliance and Fulfillment Strategy
Section M. Of government requests for proposals (FPs), which contains the evaluation factors for the award of a contract, can be seen as one of the most important sections of the FP. Though specific criteria for the project are not generally listed in this section, it is here that potential contractors can learn what areas or aspects of the project are most important, and specifically whether cost/price is the most important factor in a contract decision, the least important factor, or similar in importance to other contractual factors (Osborne, 2002). The following pages identify how this section of an FP should be addressed, using a large and well-known government contractor (Lockheed Martin) and a typical FP.

Clearly the ability to transform critical new product development, supply chain, sourcing and material yield and optimization strategies has paid off, as indicated by the exceptionally strong inventory turns a year in the latest fiscal period (29.78). This was also achieved in FY 2008 and due to several acquisitions during FY 2007 BAE Systems posted 52.31 inventory turns due to the consolidation of financial statements and operations with companies acquired during that time. Finally the metrics illustrate how well BAE is re-architecting key processes to gain high levels of cost efficiencies. This is seen in the trending of Return on Assets (ROA), which in 2005 was 3.03, increasing to 8.52 in 2006 and then dropping to 4.69 in 2007. The FY 2008 timeframe showed exceptional growth with the company reporting 7.58 ROA. On ROE the transition from 20.22 in 2005, to 47.16 in 2006, 17.78 in 2007, and 26.19 in…
Software quality management, compliance, and collaboration across the entire organization also need to be integrated at the process and role level with the LMA supply chain. As the LMA supply chain is very unique in that it specifically deals with prototypes often that are under covered under security guidelines and clearances, there needs to be continual focus on change management and task ownership in this area as well. For LMA supply chains is their major source of pricing competitive advantage as the company ahs been responsible for several innovations in this process area (Cheung, Myers, 2008). In conclusion as CEO of LMA the challenge of attaining and strengthening global competitiveness begins with being a transformational leader followed by concentrating on transforming compliance into a competitive advantage, and also striving to create a high level of task ownership, mastery and collaboration within and between the company's teams and outside partners including…

An example of this can be seen with the Gray Matter Ethics Game at Lockheed Martin. This is a simulation that will take the employee through a host of ethical situations that they could be facing. Where, employees and managers will be able to learn how to apply the standards to various ethical issues that are being faced. This is significant, because it shows how the company is continually practicing and addressing different ethical challenges on a regular basis. In many ways, one could argue that this is what has helped the company to become so successful. As these standards will change the culture within an environment, helping to improve the professionalism of staff and the relationship that they have with customers / suppliers. When you put these two different elements together, this highlights the how Lockheed Martin has been able to use their ethics policy, to change the way…

In 2003, he resigned both posts as news of the twin scandals emerged. The Air Force froze the contract that Druyun had negotiated, precipitating Condit's resignation and retirement.
Condit had joined Boeing in 1965 as an engineer and moved into management in 1973, working on marketing the 727. He completed an MBA at Sloan in 1975 and returned to Boeing, progressing rapidly up the ranks. By 1983, he became VP and General Manager of the 757 division before moving on to other VP posts. In 1996, he moved from President to CEO and a year later was named Chairman.
There is little to indicate that Condit himself was a significant contributor to the governance problems at Boeing. Although he was an engineer by training, he spent much of his time at Boeing in marketing. The hiring manager, Bill Erskine, who had hired Ken Branch in the first place, had just…

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter
The F-35 Lightning joint strike fighter (JSF) is being developed by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company for the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and the UK oyal Navy. The fighter is described as a "stealthy, supersonic, multirole fighter" which is being built "in three variants: (1) a conventional take-off and landing aircraft (CTOL) for the U.S. Air Force; (2) a carrier variant (CV) for the U.S. Navy; and (3) a short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps and the oyal Navy. (American Federation of Scientists, 2010) The concept demonstration phase is reported to have started in November 1996 when contracts were awarded to Boeing and Lockheed Martin. The contracts were made for the construction of demonstrator aircraft for three different configurations of the Joint Strike Fighter.

At the time, Little had wondered how he could procure such a low cost weapon when cost estimates based on historical precedents placed the price at $68,000 (p. 2). In April 1994, the Joint System Program Office selected McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, and Lockheed Martin in Orlando from five original competitors to design the tail kits and to submit proposals to win the development and follow-on production contracts, worth about $2 billion (Ingols & Brem, p. 1). When informed by Little that the price for the individual JDAM units might be higher than expected, General McPeak flatly informed him that, "By god, if it's one cent over, I don't want it" (quoted in Ingols & Brem at p. 9).

Technological Solutions
Improvements in technology for a public organization: The IS
The IS is a public agency that affects virtually every American's life. Even Americans who do not owe taxes must submit forms to the IS, detailing their economic status. The IS contains a wealth of information that would be of interest to someone attempting to impinge upon the security of the organization, including Social Security and financial data. To ensure people's identities are not compromised and that all financial data is stored in an accurate fashion, the IS's Computer Security Incident esponse Center (CSIC) has the responsibility of "preventing, detecting, reporting, and responding to computer security incidents targeting IS computers and data" (Nevius 2012).
However, there are serious problems with the CSIC. Firstly, a recent audit of the CSIC's found that its "host-based intrusion detection system is not monitoring 34% of IS servers, which puts the IS network…

Beyond Separation of Powers
As high school students we all learned about the Constitutional separation of powers. With each of the three branches of government -- the judicial, executive, and legislative -- having the power to limit the power of the others, no one aspect of government could hold the American people hostage. This was the structure that the Framers put into effect to ensure that Americans would have an efficient, but humane, system of government. It was also, from its inception, an idealistic one. Indeed, perhaps too idealistic, for while it is good for democracy to have power divided among many rather than only a few, it is in human nature to want to concentrate power within oneself.
Thus over the over two-and-a-quarter- centuries of our nation's history, people have devised various extra-Constitutional methods for accumulating power. This paper examines three different ways in which individuals and political and…

aytheon's SWOT Analysis Detailed
Strengths
One of the fundamental strengths of aytheon is its history. The company has been around since the early decades of the 20th century, and has regularly worked with different governmental agencies in both a covert and overt capacity since. As such, the company (which adopted its present name during 1959) (CorpWatch, 2007) is one of the more notable companies in the defense and aerospace industries. Its history adds to its reputation and, at this point, one can argue that its reputation influences its present regard in the business world.
Another definite strength of this company is its employees. The company has less than 100,000 employees. Moreover, it also has holdings and facilities in a worldwide capacity, which helps to keep its employment rates high. The primary boon associated with that number of employees is that the company has the manpower to keep pace with a…

Ethics and Social Responsibility
Companies, like people, are bound by ethical requirements -- a responsibility to consumers and customers. Companies are expected to do follow up on the promises of their advertisers. All companies make ethical declarations as part of their vision and operational philosophy, but quite a few to do little to live up these declarations. Recently, Enron's bankruptcy has brought to light some actions that appear to be at least unethical, if not actually illegal. The effect of the Enron fallout has affected not only the employees of Enron but also the shareholders and many of its offshore plants around the world (India).
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) was enacted in 1977. An investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the mid-1970's showed that over 400 U.S. companies admitted to making questionable or illegal payments in excess of $300 million to foreign government officials, politicians, and…

Lean Synchronization at Boeing
The author of this report has been asked to focus on a particular realm and part of operations management as it relates to a particular firm. The operations management facet that shall be the focus of this report is lean synchronization and the company that shall be the focus is aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Boeing has done very well for itself in the grand scheme of things but they face competition from a good number of companies with the largest competitor being Airbus. Boeing has never rested when it comes to the adjustments and pivots it makes. Indeed, they have been in the news and/or raised the attention of government regulatory agencies like the National Labor elations Board. Economical and Ethical Issues in Recycling
Economic Issues
There is a general agreement that the U.S. should be undertaking more recycling, with only 34.3% of current waste recycled. The rate is increasing, and while there have been legislative moves, it may be argued that the ethical awareness and economic factors have had a greater impact. The research proposal argues that the dualistic approach to recycling seen in the anthropocentric model can be used to show how and why the take up has been restrained, as there is a need for economic motivations to support the practice. These are now occurring, but there is still room for improvement. By undertaking quantitative research with businesses and consumers the paper proposes the gathering of information that can be statistically analysed to identify the most efficient policy approaches to improve recycling.
Introduction
The level of waste generated in increasing; it is estimated that in…
FIGHT AGAINST TEOISM
A similar crime was witnessed on September 11, 2001. The United States of America saw the sad death of thousands of innocent people just because some people wanted to acquire their goals. This followed an economic crisis and many innocent civilians faced unnecessary loss of jobs. The political environment has ever since been changing constantly and the United States went into war against Afghanistan. After Afghanistan there was a pre-emptive action on Iraq against the regime of Saddam Hussein who was accused of possessing weapons of mass destruction.
With terrorism becoming more organized, the law enforcement bodies try to formulate more laws to provide security to their citizens. There have been many congressional debates on the Antiterrorism and the Immigration policies of the United States. The immigration laws have been made stricter with a better screening of who comes in and who does not. ecently the citizens…

Outsourcing drops the costs of common goods, many of them commoditized and sold on price in mass merchandisers including Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Costco. The price points of these products enable cash-strapped families who are working to survive this recession a chance to make ends meet. Yet this is just a small percentage of overall outsourcing, as billions of dollars are spent on gaining insights and intelligence from knowledge centers globally for competitive advantage (Sturgeon, Van Biesebroeck, Gereffi, 2008).
The uncomfortable truth too is that the U.S. is also benefiting greatly from other countries coming to this nation to outsource their manufacturing here. In my state, California, the leading exports are civilian aircraft, which are 4.4% of all state exports (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010), electronic integrated circuits, which are 2% and parts & accessories for data processing equipment (1.9%). Asian nations who need aircraft expertise "outsource" their projects to California because…

Again, it is borne out by our understanding of globalization that larger economies must experience some form of retraction in order to become compatible with trade partners. Here, researchers have observed that "at high transport costs all countries have some manufacturing, but when transport costs fall below a critical value a core-periphery pattern spontaneously forms, and nations that find themselves in the periphery suffer a decline in real income. At still lower transport costs there is convergence of real incomes, in which peripheral nations gain and core nations may lose." (Gould, 1) for the United States and such firms as Boeing, this is a very real threat for which competition may only be engaged by reduction of costs, true competitive edge in an open and global marketplace and a core adaptability to the needs and innovations which are currently overwhelming it.

This will include the capacity to respond to press questions and the ability to negotiate with the government and obtain fee reductions.
The customers' negotiating power is the first important factor that affects the organization's strategic, tactical or operational planning process. Indeed, this is a particularity of the industry where oeing is competing. This is characterized by very expensive and price that can reach tens of millions for one aircraft. The customers are generally governments or other large organizations that have a high negotiating power. A negotiation for a set of planes can reach several million of the bill.
From this perspective, oeing needs to have a negotiating margin and to be able to take the right decisions when it comes to completing a deal or not. If this a long - term collaboration, the company can let the deal go for less of the initial price. All this is,…

Integration into Overall Marketing Strategy
SAP seeks to improve global campaigns' effectiveness at generating qualified sales leads, and to do so at lower cost per lead and greater speed over the Internet. To accomplish this SAP conducts an internal evaluation of its Marketing practices and uncovers the following problems during one of its marketing audits:
Regions often choose irrelevant communication tactics for the campaign goal or target customer and these tactics often end up on specific countries' websites.
Regions may sequence communications and target interactions ineffectively.
Regions often fail to share best practices across borders, leading to repetition of common mistakes.
Regions may experience difficulty translating campaign themes into local marketing messages, leading to globally inconsistent messages.
Moreover, Central Internet Marketing finds that regional groups…

F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role, extremely maneuverable fighter that is suitable for air-to-air combat as well as air-to-surface attacks. It has a combat radius (the distance the jet can fly to combat and return safely) of 500 miles, which is superior to that of other fighter aircraft. The pilot has unobstructed vision both forward and upward through to the bubble canopy. It is a precision attack aircraft and can function in all types of weather.
The F-16 originated when the United States Air Force (USAF) began studies of new high performance, lightweight fighters called the Advanced Day Fighter (ADF) as early as 1965. After several years of debate, Nixon Administration Deputy Defense Secretary David Packard recommended that the government return to competitive prototyping as a method of price containment. Several years later, the Light Weight Fighter (LWF) program, was created under Packard. A request for proposals (RFP) in…

Aviation
Invention of the Swept Wing
This is a paper about the swept wing. There are five references used for this paper.
There have been a number of innovations in the field of aviation over the years. It is interesting to examine the swept wing and determine why it was developed, and if the wing performs the function it was designed for.
The Swept Wing
The theory behind "sweeping an aircraft's wing is to delay the drag rise caused by the formation of shock waves (www.aviation-history.com/theory/swept-wing.htm)." A planform is "the shape and layout of an airplane's wing. A swept-wing is a wing planform, used on high-speed aircraft that spend a considerable portion of their flight time the transonic, the range of velocities just below and above the speed of sound. The swept-wing is a wing that is bent back as some angle, instead of sticking straight out from the fuselage…

The paper must explain "what" the feature is, "why" it is put to use on an airplane, and "how" it does or does not accomplish the intended task.
The explanation must include the theory behind the feature and any other such material as necessary to describe it in a manner so that it can be read by a person with no aviation background and be understood.
That is simply not the case. Troops are being pulled out and replaced with mercenaries.
By using such deceptive tactics as talking points like that -- "I will bring the troops home" (one of Obama's campaign promises) -- the American public are fooled about politicians' plans. Politicians are by and large bought and sold by lobbyists from the military-industrial complex as well as by the Israeli lobby like AIPAC. If Americans in favor of peace cannot be fooled by phony promises of pulling the troops out (because they know they are only being replaced by hired mercenaries and unrest is still being promoted in the Middle East as a part of America's foreign policy), then Americans are tricked into believing that the Arab states are full of terrorists and that America is not safe unless it occupies the whole of the Middle East.
As Howard Zinn observes, "The United States…

The Nazis, however, were seriously mistaken. According to Thomas D. Morgan, "No group that participated in orld ar II made a greater per capita contribution, and no group was changed more by the war." Native Americans willingly enlisted in the war more than any other group in America. Native American tribes that had a long tradition of warrior culture took up arms to defend the American nation. They also served as communication liaison agents who befuddled German and Japanese code-breakers.
Native American contribution fundamentally changed hite's attitude toward American Indians. Many soldiers referred to Native Americans as "Chefs," as a sign of respect. Holm explains: "hites, who made Indian policies at the time, came out of the war with new, or at least different, images of Indian people. These changed views created an atmosphere in which men of varying motives and goals could institute the termination policy under the cloak…

Information Technology Management Case Study
Why is it important to have several status review and decision points throughout the project's life cycle?
It is important to have several review and decision points throughout the project's life cycle because that is the only effective way of identifying potential delays and other obstacles at the earliest possible point. That enables the team to mitigate the potential damage or delay to the project as much as possible under the factual circumstances, whatever they may be. It also allows the team leader or client liaison to communicate with the client and explain the reasons for doing anything that requires a departure from the original project plan, anticipated expenses, and timeline.
As the case study illustrates, the consequences of not pre-establishing several status review and decision points throughout the project's life cycle did the exact opposite. Instead of identifying potential problems and reasons for delay…

orse Than atergate
All students are familiar with the creed of the X-files, a popular recent science fiction television show that instructed its viewers, young and old, to 'trust no one.' At the time this motto of secrecy and distrust, particular distrust of government policy and institutions was much criticized, as fostering cynicism in the hearts of the young about the potential of political involvement to create change in an open society. How is it possible to encourage students to question and to engage in governmental debate, when policy so vitally affects their lives yet when many feel ostracized by a government of secrecy and shame? In an era where every vote counts, and when a teacher is confronted with a classroom of potential voters, he or she is constantly faced with the civic as well as educationally responsible challenge of making politics accessible and interesting to students in an…

Armor Holdings
Certain activities seem vary small from the viewpoint of an outsider, but may be a big business for insiders. In this paper we deal with a company concentrating on manufacture of products for personal protection and safety for law and order agencies throughout the world.
As a company this makes highly specialized products like armor and blast protection systems for "up-armored" Humvees and different military vehicles. In addition it makes "seating systems, air bags, armor for military helicopters, body armor for troops, bullet resistant vests, flak jackets, hard armor like helmets and shields, non-lethal products for removal of crowds like tear gas, Mace spray and distraction grenades." (Armor Holdings, Inc.: www.hoovers.com) The company also makes systems through which commercial vehicles and other vehicles including cash-in-transit vehicles can be armored. The sales of the company in 2004 were $979.7 million dollars, and the net income was $80.6 million. The…

IRobot (Nasdaq: IRBT) company designs and markets robots for a variety of markets (manufacturing is outsourced). The company markets cleaning robots to consumers, but also has a variety of products aimed at the police, military and undersea research markets as well. The retail business is conducted through national retailers and the company's online store. It markets to government, the military and institutions through those institutions' purchasing processes. Among the more well-known of iRobot's products are its bomb-disposal robots, the Roomba vacuuming robot and its Seaglider unmanned underwater robot.
iRobot has a wide range of strengths. The firm has a unique market position. There are few competitors in the household robot niche. Although iRobot's products are still limited in terms of functionality, they are ahead of the competitive curve, giving iRobot some first mover advantages in this nascent industry. iRobot faces more competition with respect to military and research robots but…

COMPAISON OF MACS AND PCS
Which is better: MACS or PCS? Macintosh computers are elegant and easy to use, but PCs are cheaper and have a vast array of products with them. The Apple computer has been around for a long time, but PCs are found in more stores. The best way to decide which is better for you is to try using both of them and comparing what is best. This is an information age dependent upon digital information.
A computer system refers to the computer and all of its equipment. Equipment like speakers, printers, keyboard, scanner, etc. is called peripheral equipment, sometimes shortened to peripherals'. The central processing unit (CPU) is considered to be 'the computer" (Hitmill 2).

InVision
Over the past ten years many technology companies have succumb to the economic conditions that have dictated their demise. InVision technologies is a company that has risen to the occasion and silenced many of the pessimists and naysayers. The purpose of this discussion is to identify InVision's strategic strengths and weaknesses based on environmental "scan" analysis. The discussion will also focus on the core competencies of the organization and develop a Porter's "Five Forces" analysis for the organization. Finally we will discuss the strategic thinking of company CEO Sergio Magistri. Let's begin with a brief description of the company's function and the products that it offers.

Business Ethics
Reflection Prompt #1
Summarize three of the ethical theories that are explained in Chapter 1 of Introduction to Business Ethics. Explain how people running businesses would construct their companies if they utilized these ethical theories. For example, you might personally think that people should act to increase the overall happiness for the greatest number of people (utilitarianism). You would explain utilitarianism and then explain how a company based in utilitarian ethics would function. In other words:
What products would they make?
How would they treat their employees? How would they treat their customers?
How would they manufacture their products?
How would they utilize their resources and profits were they to become successful?
At the basis of the ethical considerations rests the question of whether or not ethics are static or they are relative. The example is give of Lockheed Martin who was caught offering a quarter of a…
Patient-Centered Medical Home
Medical Home
How the Patient-Centered Medical-Home reducing cost and improving quality and safety for patients.
The patient centered medical home is a platform that fills a need in the current healthcare system. The U.S. healthcare system has been plagued for quite some time with a trend of substantially rising healthcare costs as well as another trend of slipping quality standards. These two trends are argued to be a phenomenon that has emerged at least partly from poor planning and ineffective use of resources. One solution to some of these issues can be found in the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model of primary care. This model has been developed with the coordination of long-term physician-patient relationships in mind. Developing these relationships further can not only reduce costs in unnecessary procedures that are the result of the missed opportunity for preventive care, but also have been shown to improve…

U.S. Policy and the War on Terror: An Ineffective Strategy
Since 9/11 the U.S. government has pursued a policy of combating terrorism with all of its resources (intelligence, technology, military, economic sanctions, etc.). However, the question remains, nearly a decade and a half later, with terror attacks occurring more and more frequently around the world, whether the U.S. has been effective in its countering of terrorism. According to various studies, it can be shown how far from actually eradicating terrorism, the policies of the U.S. government have actually helped to foster the spread of terrorism. Now, as Russia steps into the Middle East to fight ISIS at the request of Syria, a disinformation campaign in the West has been put into practice by the mainstream media to show how Russia and Syria are hurting the war against terrorism, when the reality is that Russia has been far more effective in…

Critical Analysis: War is a Racket
Butler is correct: war is racket. He describes a racket as an operation that costs many but benefits a few—and that describes war well enough. Hundreds of thousands of lives are put on the line while a handful profit—investors, bankers, speculators and industrialists, for example, all of whom stood to make out like bandits from the Spanish-American war. Wars are invariably fought over some pretense: the Spanish-American War was launched because of an explosion on The Maine, which our yellow journalists quickly blamed on Spain, which allowed our leaders (who always have a cozy relationship with our bankers, speculators and industrialists) to go take the Philippines. In WWI, it was the Lusitania. In Vietnam, it was Gulf of Tonkin. In WWII, it was Pearl Harbor. For the current ME disaster, it was 9/11 and then the mobile weapons labs and phony evidence regarding yellow…
1. Why is the state considered a central institution in comparative politics? What does state power look like, and where does it come from? Towards what ends do states use their power? Give detailed examples from three country-cases.
The state is the central institution in comparative politics because it represents the group of institutions and agencies that exercise authority over the people subordinate to it. The state mediates disputes and serves to unite the individual will and the collective will under one umbrella. The state is recognized as the legitimate authority by the people and thus they comply with the state’s rules without needing to be coerced. To understand comparative politics, one has to understand the central role of the state.
State power can take numerous forms. In America it takes the forms of the courts, the Congress, and the police—for starters. The government has three branches of government—the executive,…
1. Influence of Air Force New Equipment Development on Operation
2. Introduction
Having been incepted in 1947, the United States Air Force (USAF) is effectively the country’s youngest military formation. It is important to note, from the onset, that USAF came to be as a consequence of the need to ensure that the U.S. has a decisive advantage as far as the character of warfare is concerned. This is more so the case in reference to long-range bombing. The USAF has, since then, continued to be seen as the force of the future. It therefore follows that the relevance of modernizing USAF and equipping it with new tools of engagement cannot be overstated as far as the further enhancement of its operational capabilities is concerned.
3. Discussion

-29 and -26 bombers were used by U.S. forces to decimate Korean cities through round-the-clock air war using incendiary bombs, delayed demolition explosives and an "infernal jelly" called napalm.[footnoteRef:38] Created secretly during World War II, napalm was basically a mixture of petroleum and a thickening agent, designed to fiercely adhere to the target and severely burn it. Though first used against enemy structures and humans in World War II, napalm was used in the Korean War to devastating effect.[footnoteRef:39] the results of the U.S. air war against North Korea were intentionally catastrophic: at the commencement of the War, North Korea had 22 major cities, 18 of which suffered at least 50% obliteration.[footnoteRef:40] Furthermore, the U.S. government seriously considered using the atomic bombs that had so decisively ended World War II in the Pacific Theater. Particularly in September and October of 1951, -29 bombers were used for multiple runs to drop…

Professionalism on the part of employees is also facilitated by management's demanding high standards of employees, in line with the stress of the necessity of improving world health care and helping students. Yet management is always committed to recognizing impressive employee performances with generous bonuses, providing a comprehensive benefits package for all workers, and showing respect for employee health and welfare, as well as customer health and welfare. Also, the tuition assistance program shows how the company respects the importance of education for workers as well as for customers
External Factor
Globalization
Globalization spawned the founding of this organization. Globalization continues to impact its structure and mission. As health care bureaucracies around the world grow more complex, and the policies regarding foreign nationals studying in the U.S. change in response to international political events, the ECFMG must remain flexible and abreast of world affairs.
Specialized labor is needed to produce a specialized product for the military. As such the cost of attracting and utilizing such talent can be very expensive to IBM.
IBM's indirect costs would consist of three aspects pertaining mainly to time, fraud and unexpected occurrences. The first indirect cost of time creates large expenses with IBM. The larger each individual employee takes to complete his task, the more expensive the services rendered by IBM become. This is because the contract has a set time frame. If the time frame for the contract is exceeded, IBM will incur a bulk to the expenses related to such inefficiencies. This could potentially reduce the overall return of the project. Fraud can also occur as employees could utilize technology or knowledge of the data centers to use for their own personal use. This could include selling the information to foreign entities or IBM's direct competitors.…

Proper defenses, enhanced offensive capabilities and strategies to reduce risk by taking some sensitive data offline will all work to deliver better results in e-spionage of the United States. The Internet has become globalized, and nothing can take that back. That there are threats as the result of globalization is nothing new -- it is simply another arena for age-old international political traditions. How we manage the threats and take advantage of the opportunities is the most important aspect to this problem -- and this means proper isolating and neutralizing of viral threats. By addressing the issue of e-spionage effectively, the Internet can still be viewed as a net benefit for the United States.
