Professional Or Educational Purposes Is Term Paper

2006). Works Cited

Since this paper utilizes the MLA style of citation, there is a Works Cited the end of the document. Although the same information is necessary with APA, the page is entitled References (Neyhart et al. 2006). Neither title should be underlined or put into quotations and both should be centered. Both styles insist to double space the source page, but the MLA style requires a single space within each numbered reference with a double space between them (Stolley 2006).

Footnotes and Endnotes

The treatment of footnotes and endnotes for both APA and MLA are rather consistent (Neyhart et al. 2006) (Stolley 2006). Within the text of a document, the note should be placed as a superscripted number after the sentence and after the punctuation mark. The notes should be numbered in chronological order in the document. There needs to be a Notes page at the end of the document but before the source page with a complete list of the notes. This page carries two differences between the usages of the two. As in the References page for APA, the entire page is double spaced whereas the MLA Notes page is doubled spaced between entries and single spaced within. In addition, the note includes the page number from which it was found in the APA format as in the in-text citation also.

Whether using the MLA or the APA style, it is a reflection of mutual respect for the intellectual property of the author.
