The thumbs of the human hand make it possible for the hand to lift and carry objects. The movement of the human hand is due to evolutionary development of bipedalism. The human hand consists of twenty seven bones. The wrist has cube shaped bones placed in rows of two or four each. The palm of the hand consists of bones called the carpals. When lifting a glass of water the striated muscle pulls the radius and ulna allowing the arm to reach for the glass. The flexor muscles in the hand and fingers are used to flex the fingers around the glass making it possible to grip. The flexors which are located near the elbow allow the arm to contract or straiten. Gliding joints which are found in the wrist allows your wrist to move in different directions. These joints assist the muscles and bones in the wrist to grasp the glass of water and grasp it tightly.
The path of water from the mouth to the urethra, however, takes a different route. Water travels from the mouth into the esophagus. The water goes through the digestive tract moving through a coiled tube in the body. The tube is ten meters long and is narrow....
The water passes through this into the gallbladder. The gallbladder or liver breaks down the water into tiny droplets. The water then travels into the small intestines. The small intestine is about 22 feet long, which is where the digestion of the water occurs.
The water also passes through the large intestines; the water is passed through and is filtered by the kidneys. Since humans are 2/3 liquid the water mostly stays in the blood stream. However, some of the water travels into the bladder for disposal of urine. Once inside of the bladder the urine stays there until the bladder gets full. The bladder swells once it is full into a round shape.
The path that the water takes from the mouth into the urine is a simpler process then the path of the messages from the brain to the body. The human body is able to do many tasks at one time. As the central nervous system takes steps to transmit the brain impulse the brain sends messages through its own signals. The water which travels from the mouth into the urethra continues on a course of its own allowing the body to process the water, as does the brain to the nervous system.
