Transfer Application When Growing Up, I Had Essay

Transfer Application When growing up, I had this deep fascination with all sorts of mechanical and electronic items. I remember one particular instance where I almost got myself hurt after pulling off the cover of an air conditioner without disconnecting the unit's power source. I was seeking to find out how the unit worked/operated from the inside. At the time, I was only 12 years old. To date, my fascination with items of an electronic or mechanical nature has never ceased. Indeed, this could have largely influenced my choice of career. In the short-run, I plan to first complete my bachelors degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering after which I will pursue an MS in the same. The graduate degree is part and parcel of my long-term plans. In addition to fine tuning my skills, the graduate degree will further enhance my competitiveness. With a bachelors degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and an MS in the same, I could work in a wide range of fields. My dream is to be a systems engineer. Thus in the next 15 years, I see myself leading an able team in the design, development as well...

To tell you a little bit about myself, I was born on 7th September, 1990 in Tulsa. My desire to transfer to Rutgers University is based on a number of factors. To begin with, my choice of Rutgers is a product of extensive research on institutions whose programs are most competitive. In some quarters, it is said that we become the best by associating ourselves with the best. Having been established in 1981 as a separate unit, your institution's Department of Industrial Engineering has obviously matured with time. This is evident from amongst other things the number of faculty members the department has i.e. 12. The number of graduate students is also telling of a well-established faculty. In contrast, UNCC's Systems Engineering department is new and understaffed. Graduating from Rutgers will undeniably be a welcome boost to my career. From my research, I also came to learn that Rutgers has a diverse student body comprising of individuals of diverse nationalities as well as religion and race. The world in which we live in is increasingly becoming borderless. Studying in a diverse environment will make me a better global citizen as this will see me relate with people holding different ideas, beliefs as well as viewpoints than myself. With immensely successful individuals like Hazel O'Leary and Louis Freeh being some of the notable alumni of the institution, Rutgers remains a leading center of excellence. In that regard, I am convinced that undertaking my studies at Rutgers will be of immense significance as far as my personal enrichment and career goals are concerned.

I am convinced that if granted the transfer request, I will be able to realize my full potential as a student of Rutgers University. I also intend to take this opportunity to improve my grades especially after my performance during the last semester became affected by a medical issue I am battling. I look forward to joining Rutgers University.
