* HAARP is an earthquake machine. Also based on a bunch of weird stuff Tesla discovered. Somewhat offset by the fact the HAARP array is clearly pointed at the sky.

* HAARP is a doomsday machine ripping a hole in the earth's atmosphere. Colorful, but scienfitically questionable. How do you rip a hole in air?

* HAARP has something to do with UFOs. Either signalling them, blasting them from the skies, or feeding babies to them.

* HAARP is a giant Mind Control broadcasting machine. Appealing, but if it works, why are people still such assholes? (clarky003)

Though an anonymous blogger is hardly likely to be considered a credible source the reality is that the full implications of this research device are unknown and real scientists who he caricatures have real scientific knowledge that allows them to explore credible possibilities of negative outcomes of the work of HARRP. The potential effects of this massive influx of proposed ionospheric wind, supposedly produced by the "real" device are many, those that are simply speculative include: the potential to deforest entire tracks of land, interfere with communication, alter the behavior of humans and even cause earthquakes.

Rhetorically speaking one really only has to look back a little bit to see countless examples of devices and/or technologies in history that have had massive negative (and some positive) effects on people, war and the earth. Dynamite is an excellent analogous example. Its' famous inventor saw it as a tool to save countless hours of backbreaking labor in industry, which is certainly has. Yet, as soon as the scientist lets go of his invention it becomes a weapon, a tool of war that cost far more lives than it saved, at least in its early years, in labor related deaths. The destruction associated with the invention was so lamented by its now famous inventor, Alfred Nobel that he established the Nobel Peace Foundation as a response...

(Bellis) Another example, would be the development of the nuclear chain reaction by the Hungarian American Loe Szilard. Who clearly resented the use of his scientific discovery as a means of war and especially against civilians, when the military took over his work, developed the atomic bomb and used it on civilians in Japan. "Though we haven't yet experienced its full effects, the atomic bomb is perhaps the single biggest man-made threat to the environment." (Digg)
Inventions and research both innocuous and seriously threatening often begin as well intentioned "good ideas" that result in catastrophic and sometimes global negative and positive outcomes. The HARRP, though it is claimed to be innocuous could clearly be one of the next little research developments that seriously challenges humanity in many unforeseen ways and as has been stated previously using the powers of nature to harm humanity is ultimately wrong on nearly every level. Despite the idea that this thesis might by some be seen as an argument against scientific research and therefore progress, it is foundational that controls and potential negative scenarios be explored to the full ability of those both inside and outside any research before such research is applied to fruitless and harmful endeavors, such as furthering the destruction of humanity or even many would say, the environment of the earth.
