The societies that have exhibited mechanical solidarity, egotistic suicide is considered not to be considered the major cause of the death. It has been observed that in situation where individuals fail to find any purpose to live, and their 'unrestrained pursuit of individual interests' (Goodman, 1999), is likely develop sense of dissatisfaction can cause suicide. However people who are deeply affiliated into their family structure, and are integrated with a religious group, or associated with any other integrative activity has the potential to reduce the suicide activities. Depression and disillusionment are the major social currents which can compel the individual towards performing egoistic suicide. According to critics, 'the social currents of depression and disillusionment emanating from no particular individual but expressing society's state of disillusionment has the potential to make that individual the victim of suicide' (Durkheim, 1938). Altruistic suicide is considered to be a form of suicide which is practiced when the social integration is extremely high, and the 'the collective consciousness is too strong' (Durkheim, 1938), such situation compel the individual to commit the suicide, the 'followers of Jim Jones of the People's Temple or the members of the Solar Temple are considered to be an example of altruistic suicide' (Durkheim, 1938). In some of the cases lawlessness is also responsible for the increase in suicide i.e. regarded as Anomic Suicide. Low degree of regulation and external limitations of the public is responsible for such cases. Such practices are common where people are victim of economic depression or over-rapid economic expansion. Situations when the regulation are severe, it is expected that the individual 'with futures pitilessly blocked and passions violently choked by oppressive discipline' (Cuff, 1992), may fall victim of suicide as well. In cases when the individual finds no possible way out for the improvement of their lives. It has been reported more than 25% of the people in the age...
It has been observed that two common explanations between the suicide and socio-economic conditions is based on social causation, which is based on social and economic circumstances which determine the nature of mental health, and also social selection in which the people are forced to suicide due to adverse mental condition, which prevails due to the deterioration of the social factors. Education and occupation categories have great influence on the socio-economic characteristics, and which eventually give rise to the suicide cases. However it has been observed that in case of mental disability or sickness, the social and economic conditions have no major impact on the suicide rate, rather the suicide rate is also purely dependent upon the mental behavior of the individual. Suicide rates are also based on the gender differences, and the mental and emotional factors attributed with the particular individual victim of gender discrimination, victimization and persecution is responsible for the rise in suicide rates, and such cases have been reported in women more than men. It has been researched, 'higher self-reported levels of physical and psychiatric morbidity in women but lower mortality to socio-cultural factors associated with gender roles' (Cuff, 1992), the mental disorder ness by differential severity among particular gender has created impact on the suicide cases.
Colic's (2005) argument is that there is a very strong correlation between porr housing and an individual's physical ill health. He goes further to point out that six out of every ten homeless individuals do suffer from a certain form of mental distress. About 20% of this lot have severe mental illness. In a nutshell, social exclusion gives rise to a direct form of social and economic consequences that
