¶ … Live Without Science? The vast improvements in the quality of life modern humankind has been experiencing are due in large part to the developments and innovations in science. These are not only confined to one or two branches of science but all branches thereof have made significant contributions. Whether it is in the biological, physical, technological, medical or other science, each branch has provided breakthroughs that resulted in having a better life for each of us. For instance, "new technological advances lead to new scientific discoveries [such as] developing DNA copying and sequencing technologies [that] led to important breakthroughs (University of California Museum of Paleontology et al., 2011). Diseases that used to be dreaded in the past and caused several deaths are now curable because of our knowledge in DNA technology.

On the personal level, science has tremendously improved how I live my everyday life. Technology for that matter enabled me to have the latest innovations in information and communications that helped me in both my academic and work endeavors. Instead of going to the library for...

As a person who is very much concerned with health and fitness, science has provided the knowledge on the proper nutrition to take and the kind of exercises to do to keep me in top physical shape. People are now living longer as we understand more about aging and the nutrients need to keep the body healthy and active long into our sunset years (Jessa, 2011). Thus, I know that I will be one of those (absent any unforeseen or life threatening disease that may come my way) that can see living to my old age because science have made it possible. This living longer does not mean I will be unhealthy and senile but active still because science is providing the ways and means of being able to do so.
In stating that the quality of life of humankind or even my quality of life vastly improves with science, one of the meanings of this is how developments in science have made information and knowledge readily available to us. The acquisition thereof has truly brought us out of the Dark Ages…
