The passion and truth generated were really cries for help and today those cries are being answered by middle class whites all trying to be as cool as the original B-Boys. The hip hop movement had various social ladders as there were middle class blacks who rapped and spun records and there were more poor individuals who were not as affluent in life but just as or maybe even more so talented then their wealthier peers. There were many names who did well in this genre like Jeff Mills aka The Purpose Maker and Robert Hood. But overall the genre was to far underground to make a big splash accept in Europe.
