Dark Knight rises has had a very strong fan following ever since the release of Batman Begins (2005) and the Dark Knight (2008). Therefore, it was not surprising to find the excited and anxious crowd in a very huge number. The crowd had already set the mood of the film as they cheered and roared with excitement to watch the film, thanks to the trailers that had filled the crowd with a lot of hope for this film.
Usually the best seat to have in a theatre is in the middle of the theatre and in the centre. So that it is not much elevated or has a side perspective of the film. All this said, I was not very lucky to get the seat in the extreme centre, but I did manage to get four seats away from the centre (middle row). The view was not bad so I had quite an experience watching the film. In addition, the traditions of the theatre and movie watching experience had to be kept alive; I bough a bag of pop corns and a drink to sit through the film. The crowd that was so energetic before entering the theatre, had become a lot anxious, and decided to watch the film with full concentration, so they kept quite in the beginning, at least until the title of the film showed up when the crowd started cheering and hooting! That showed the excitement that Christopher Nolan had started to build right from the start (Cox and Greg, pg. 23).
Christopher Nolan has had a history of making the epic films in his history such as Inception, Memento, Batman Begins and the Dark Knight. When I saw the first trailer of this film, I knew that I had to watch it the very first day of release. Christopher Nolan has a very peculiar style of making films. Unlike all other superhero films that we have seen in the past focus on the strength of the villain and hero, instead of focusing on the strength of their characters; Christopher Nolan thinks otherwise, and this we can clearly see in The Batman Begins and the Dark Knight.
The cast of the film in itself was very strong for the story. Besides, of the old cast that was in the Dark Knight: Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordan, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and Michael Caine as Alfred. Christopher Nolan brought in some more interesting new characters: Tom Hardy as Bane (villain) and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (Cat Woman). One advantage that Christopher Nolan had in this film was that he did not have to reveal the characters, as he had to do it in his last two films. Because most of the main characters had already been revealed before, there were only a few new characters that needed to have a background. So Christopher Nolan had more freedom to play with the story rather than establishing characters.
The movie has grossed $160 million over the weekend. This amount could have been more if it was not for the tragic event that happened in Colorado. Considering the effort, time, and money invested on this film, it can be very easily said that $160 million is well deserved. The Dark Knight had grossed $158.5 million in the same period. Having earned $160 million The Dark Knight Rises has raised to the third number of earning the highest, after Avengers and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Snider, T and Brandon, pg. 67).
The story of the Dark Knight Rises has been plotted 8 years after the event of the Dark Knight. Gotham city is at peace after the event, and most of the major crimes have been erased by the Gotham City Police and everything is under control. Commissioner Gordon alone knows about the true incident of Harvey Dent, but decides not to reveal anything to the public as that would cause a...
Knight, Death, Devil Durer Artistic Analysis: Knight, Death, Devil by Durer "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil," Psalm 23 could easily be taken as the primary influence for this piece (The British Museum 2012). "Knight, Death, and the Devil," by Albercht Durer in 1513, features a Christian knight walking through a dark valley in the midst of evil and death. It is

superhero is no easy feat or task. In order to be a successful superhero, one must possess a universal set of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Based upon Christopher Nolan's interpretation of Batman, it can be argued that Bruce Wayne/Batman possesses the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to be a superhero. In order to be successful as a superhero one must know the difference between right and wrong. This ability to
Statistics have numerical data that reveals information that a person can conclude on a given social phenomenon. The information is usually not sufficient to understand the whole concept behind the research. Hence, additional information is required in order to know the full aim and target results of the study (Babbie, 2010). What information do we miss when we look only at statistical data? Statistical data cannot provide the mindset of the
The function of myth in social cultures is explored by Mary Barnard in her the Mythmakers in which she investigates the origins of ritual in folklore, history, and metaphor. In addressing such a wide scope of material, she came to the conclusion that the origins of many mythical personas/deities related to a single familiar theme: intoxication (4). Her discoveries became offshoots of CG Jung's definition of mythology: Myths are original revelations of
The tone of Dizzie Gillespie and Sonny Sit's solos is notably more optimistic and cheerful. Dizzie Gillespie once again introduces some elements of Bebop into the context of his solos to enrich the more set harmony of the rest of the song. The end of the song actually features Dizzie Gillespie and OSnny Sitt singing along, really capturing the duet style of the song that was first introduced by
