It is imperative for an effective leader to have a plan in order to succeed. This takes into account a personal plan intended for growth and a professional one intended for improvement. The purpose of this paper is to highlight my personal strengths and weaknesses as a leader, ascertain the areas necessitated for enhancement, and pinpoint the leadership skills and practices that I will employ to become an effective leader. In addition, this paper will also delineate an outline of the goals and objectives that I deem to be a priority as well as a timeline for this leadership development. The general result will encompass an inclusive leadership plan of development that I will utilize to develop myself as an individual and also for any organization that I will eventually work for in the forthcoming periods.

The personal assessment of management skills facilitated clear awareness and discernment into areas with regard to my leadership skills. Every evaluation challenged me to perceive within and conjecture the manner in which I presently cope with or would cope with dissimilar circumstances. Every scenario points out real world applications that reveal the type of leader that I aspire to become. This is through the different strengths and weaknesses in my leadership competencies.

Strengths

Being a leader does not solely encompass being in possession of determination and resolve strong enough to make other individuals undertake what you desire, but it is also about having comprehensive moral and ethical beliefs and standards, which can offer guidance and direction to you and your followers on the manner in which to attain your objectives and goals. An effective leader ought to have the capacity to bring into play and utilize his or her strong suits in order to have better leadership and direction for the subordinates. Through PAMS, I am able to determine several areas where my key strengths lie. One of them is that I am highly organized. In particular, it is imperative to note that organization is a key element of being an effective leader. From the outset I have always considered it to be much simpler to manage my day when I have a to-do-list that I take into consideration. This enables me to noticeably perceive the tasks that require to be accomplished for the day. Going hand-in-hand with the list provides directive to an otherwise disordered state of affairs. My subordinates will have the capacity to have a high opinion of me to provide clear guidelines on the day's tasks that necessitate to be accomplished. This can take account of providing meeting programs, individual objectives and follow up communications. This sort of organization will maintain goals and tasks aligned (Kotter, 2012).

I will employ the similar kind of structure within the organization that I offer direction and lead. The personnel will react in a better manner when coping and dealing with a leader that offers clear and comprehensive instructions. This can vary from offering meeting schedules to providing follow up correspondences that links together all the information obtainable. Having palpable and well organized material can assist others to work in the direction of the similar objectives. I will work in tandem with my subordinates to articulate and realize their individual objectives (Kotter, 2011).

Additional strong suits that I possess and reveal consist of being accountable, structured, articulate, determined, self-assured, and task-oriented, structured and being an efficacious planner. I am also idealistic and in possession of the capability to manage resources in an effective manner. In particular, being structured enables me to fix and place parameters that we can all work within in order to attain the general objectives of the company. It is imperative to note that structure forms tie a sense of interconnectedness in the workplace. This sort of accord and unanimity will be essential for the accomplishment and prosperity of the organization. More so, we can all work in the direction of mutual objectives if apparent objectives are delineated and defined by every individual. The other strong suits will also work in tandem (Cameron, 2011).

In linking and merging these skills, I will have the ability to have the followers that are not only well-informed, but also determined to engage in the journey to attaining the objectives and goals of the company. In addition, this will take into account making the most of my resource management skills. In essence, this encompasses completely and comprehensively utilizing the resources that I have in a fitting manner. Each of these strong suits has a different aspect of contribution and I ought to espouse and embolden these dissimilarities so that everyone will feel that they are valuable. These constructive characteristics will augment the work relationship that I have with my juniors and peers for the reason that they will perceive that they are following an individual or leader who is well-informed and proficient in leading. It is my anticipation that these similar qualities I hold will be reflected in those that I lead so as to safeguard the success of the organization that we exemplify (Kotter, 2011).

Weaknesses

Taking into consideration the completed assessments, I managed to ascertain my weaknesses. By being aware of and acknowledging my weaknesses makes it possible for me to be more effective and much better in my position. This is largely for the reason that I gain insights into the areas that necessitate working on in order to be able to become a more effective leader. A number of the areas that necessitate improvement consist of enhancing interpersonal skills, cultivating administrative skills and also enhancing self-confidence.

The lack of self-confidence can be owing to the absence of substantial and considerable knowledge in particular competencies and areas. The perception of peers and other individuals having more training, understanding and knowledge than what I possess results in having a sense of anxiety which transforms in showing an extent of lower self- esteem and confidence from myself. This predetermined perception that others are superior and I am every now and then not up to snuff can be the reasoning related to my interpersonal skills as well (Bateman and Snell, 2015).

For the reason that I have the tendency of leaning significantly on tasks and less on associations or relations, I might find it challenging and hard to solicit and count on the trust of my subordinates or peers. In particular, I have issues with associating to them to an extent that goes beyond a work and professional relationship. It has been quite challenging in the preceding periods to maintain those clear lines and sustain that position of supremacy and authority devoid of forfeiting getting to know them better as individuals. Leadership Goals

The combination of my education and experiences, boosted by my viewpoint and observations, will up the basis upon which I will develop as a leader. There are a number of set leadership goals that I plan on achieving. One of the leadership objectives is in a professional manner to build my effectiveness not only as a leader, but also manager of subordinates and followers. This is to become a leader that others want to work for or follow. This is through leveraging prospects to understand and connect with the subordinates and followers. My intent is to make certain that the personnel have a sense of value and contribution to the organization. Another objective is to become comfortable and at ease with regard to communication skills and become an eloquent and articulate spokesperson. Another leadership goal is the advancement of my technical skills. In particular, I consider myself to be a committed professional. My objective is to developing additional and more progressive technical skills and abilities and making the most of my talents to add value and bring contribution to by unit and organization as well.
