The foundations of communication development are attained right from the minute the child is given birth. The taking of turns that occurs between the mother and the infant, referred to as a "dance" comes about from the very strong emotive base.

In particular, this is from the response of the mother to the baby's behaviour, but more significantly when the mother attains an intuition regarding the baby's moods, responses, intents and also feelings. One of the most significant aspects of early intervention with any child is that it helps not only the caregiver, but also the family members and other significant members to be able to integrate particular patterns of communication and behaviours into their day-to-day routines and interactions with the child.

Of course, it is imperative to note that the distinctive communicative behaviors to be employed will be reliant and contingent on the nature of the kid's disability as well as the level of development together with the degree of interest. However, in understanding and developing communicative behaviors, it is also imperative to have an appreciation and understanding of the distinctions regarding the development of non-verbal communication.

For starters, it can be perceived as the neurophysiological practise of the central nervous system obtaining sensory information regarding the environment through the peripheral nervous system. Secondly, it can be deemed as an occupational theoretic therapy model of brain-behavior associations that aids the occupational therapist in construing perceived behaviors and in understanding development. Lastly, it is a working clinical therapy structure of reference employed by therapists to evaluate and provide treatment to individuals who have precise disorders in sensory processing.

The process through which we incorporate sensations from our body as well as setting to become accustomed to a circumstance is one that starts even before being born and goes on as we grow and mature. In accordance to the sensory integration theory, this process continues to mature over the first seven to eight years of life. This is because right from birth, an infant growing and developing in a typical manner starts to attach meaning to all of the sensations that they go through and experience.

In essence, the infants only necessitate an environment that is safe and inviting and one that matches their abilities. From an expert role, early intervention services have come to be more and more palpable in more and more nations across the world. As an expert I believe that early intervention makes it possible for young children to be included and made feel as if they do actually have a sense of belonging in their community. Why is the early infant-caregiver relationship referred to as a "dance"? The bond between a baby and his caregiver is entirely deemed as a distinctive and perhaps the most intimate of all human interactions. Despite the fact that this special contact unquestionably feels unbelievable, and at times indescribable, attachment is in point of fact woven together through immeasurable shared relations between the caregiver and the baby.
