While animated sitcoms are generally appreciated for their humor and for their ability to relieve tension, most people tend to ignore the fact that some of these shows can also be educational. The masses need to understand that schools and parents are meant to instruct children regarding the difference between right and wrong. Also, children need to learn how to filter information in order to understand the positive aspects put across by diverse shows that they are watching. Through being presented with information present in particular animated sitcoms, teenagers are more likely to successfully integrate society as a result of the fact that they imitate moral behaviors put across by characters. While Trey Parker and Mark Stone's animated series South Park is one of the most controversial sitcoms released in recent years, the show is also meant to address society's flaws.

Most people are likely to agree that South Park expresses negative feelings and cannot possibly have anything to do with teaching individuals in regard to how they can get actively involved in the social order, as children are simply influenced to replicate the depraved behavior that they see in characters. However, the masses are wrong because they allow themselves to be influenced by the outer shell of things. There is more to South Park than "toilet humor," as the sitcom is meant to satirize society. Consequent to watching the show, college students are probable to express feelings related to freedom of speech, disrespect in regard to material values and people who appreciate them, and a general hesitance to act in accordance with the rather absurd laws imposed by a corrupt system. It is not necessarily that South Park wants to promote anarchy, as its actual purpose is to have teenagers understand that life is not all about acting in accordance with society's traditions. It is perfectly normal for an individual to express a need for a personal identity from time to time and he or she cannot possibly do so as long as he or she does not receive instruction in regard to how to find his or her individuality.

People need to understand that the world is not as perfect as they might think and that teaching children moral behavior is unlikely to assist them when they experience the harsh reality of life. South Park presents people with a diverse set of concepts that are meant to have them realize that it is perfectly ok for them to perform activities that their parents would not normally endorse, as life needs to be balanced and as only concentrating on performing moral acts can actually hurt an individual, considering that it is very probable that he or she will be taken advantage of.

One of the biggest issues when concerning South Park and the effect that it has on audiences relates to the age of the individuals watching it. The show is normally aimed at a teenager audience and it is difficult to determine whether children under ten are capable to understand the moral aspects that the sitcom is trying to convey. People need to accept the fact that society is not exactly a comfortable environment welcoming them as they attempt to integrate it. The harsh reality of life can have a harmful effect on individuals if they are not prepared to deal with it. South Park thus manages to present teenagers with more information regarding society and teaches them that one can always use weapons like sarcasm, irony, and humor in trying to escape society's damaging effects on his or her personality.
