Prophecies in the Bible Most significant prophecy Micah 5:2 This is the verse that spoke to me the most among all the other prophecies. It is the prophecy of the origin of Jesus Christ being from a humble background of Judea, and this came to be fulfilled in the New Testament. TH reason behind this verse being a significant ne for me is that it is one prophecy whose fulfilment had a total change in direction in the world in that it introduced the Christianity into the entire picture.

It is the fulfilment that also brought about the redemption of mankind through Jesus Christ and free from bondage of the law but depending on grace from Jesus. It also marked the beginning of preaching of the word of God in a manner that was easier understood by the son of God who was sent from heaven by God.

The fulfilment of the prophecy also gave rise to the unveiling and revealing of several other elements that were concealed from mankind, Jesus created a connection between man and God in terms of his teachings and his actions, all of which could not have been possible if the prophecy was not fulfilled.

Jesus is the Messiah There are several proofs from the given prophecies and the subsequent fulfilment that hold to indicate that Jesus is the Messiah or the savior that was sent not for the world kingdom but heavenly kingdom.

First the fulfilment of the prophecy on the humble origin from a small tribe or lineage is one proof that he came as a servant who never wanted to receive glory as being from a superior tribe but a humble Messiah/savior who will accept every caliber of persons and save them. The other proof of Jesus being the Messiah is the prophecy in Zachariah9:9 where it was prophesied that the messiah will come and the path must be prepared and he shall come riding on a colt.

This was fulfilled in Matthew where Jesus in the triumphant entry got great reception riding on a colt, a sign of humble Messiah who came to save the world. The death of Jesus to save the world was also prophesized in.
