When I first began contemplating about teaching online, I came to the realization that there was a lot that I needed to learn and grasp. Taking into account my age and education period, I have not yet been an online student. However, I do know that I want to take part in imparting knowledge regarding security to those individuals who are not able to come to a traditional or conventional classroom environment. I want to be of assistance in created courses concerning security aspects that are of quality and beneficial to these students and those that will take into consideration all sorts of activities that normally take place in courses that are centered within the classroom.
I am extensively engrossed and interested in partaking in the Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning. I am interested in this course for the reason that I purpose to learn several different aspects so that I can become a good teacher and impart knowledge regarding security. At the present moment, I serve as a civilian in the government as I operate as the Chief of Information Security. However, soon in the forthcoming periods I will be retiring from this position. The main implication of this is that I will have the available time to undertake this online course.
I am keenly seeking the opportunity to teach an online course that deals with security. I believe that I have the proficiency and adeptness to pass on to other individuals. In undertaking this online teaching course, I will be able to learn and try out with methods only accessible in online settings, for instance webliographies as well as threaded discussions. In addition, this course will allow me to learn and know the conceptions and methods to execute in conventional courses. For instance, online email dialogs and considerations can be integrated into conventional courses with the purpose of facilitating group work. By having a firm grasp on these different teaching aspects, I will be able to become a better and more effective teacher in imparting security knowledge through the online courses (CRLT, 2015).
