The first one is on the inability of the common core to positively influence students while the second one explores the common core as being a tactical advantage. The first article tries to give an explanation of how the common core standards which are English and Language arts lack the ability of career ready and college students' development. The second article on the other hand contradicts this belief that the core standards English and Language arts have the ability of diminishing the ability of students to have a reflection on just their experiences in life. The topic of common core standards is a very important one to education and therefore it is important to explore both sides of this particular coin as they have been brought on in these two articles. The topic on common core standards is important since it forms a basis for students ahead of their college or career life. This implies that we have to thoroughly examine this topic in order to make the correct decision which will help these students as the progresses in their next stage of life either college or as they start their careers. Summary

The article Uncommonly Bad Academic Questions was written by Robbins, J in 2013.in this article the author tries to give an explanation of how the common core standards lack the ability to develop students that are either career ready or furthering into college education. The article argues that the common core standards are meant for K-12 aged students that have the ability of easily transition into employment or college. This design enables students to decide whether they will pursue a degree or go towards the path of vocational education. This common core standard was designed in order to create an improvement in American schools while at the same time encouraging their goals and enhancing school to work opportunities. The author gives a suggestion that with the core standards n palace students will lack the ability to which will enhance the student's literature as well as their understanding.
