In the article Why Don't We Complain, William F. Buckley says that it is matter of social etiquette. as, anyone who speaks up: against the kind of service that they are receiving or are unsatisfied with what is taking place are labeled as a trouble maker. While no one will outwardly say this, these views are illustrated in the stares that this person is receiving. (Buckley)

Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 (train): As, Buckley, is explaining how this is taking place by: having to ride on a hot train, with a conductor that does not care about these conditions. (Buckley)

Paragraph 4 (Americans in general): This is problematic, because it is a sign of the attitude of complacency. (Buckley)

Paragraph 5, 6, and 7 (movie): During a movie he observed similar kinds of attitudes with: the projectionist (as the film was out of focus). This is despite the fact that: everyone knew this and no one seemed to care. (Buckley)

Paragraph 11, 12 (New Year's Eve): A similar situation happens every New Year's Eve (with Buckley), as he will continually make resolutions (to speak up). Yet, every year he never speaks out against this kind of indifference from: people who are providing him with a service. (Buckley)

Paragraph 18 (airplane): The classic example of this occurred on the airplane, when he was trying to have the flight attendant collect his empty try. During this process, she spoke: rudely to him and made him wait fifteen minutes (before picking up his tray). (Buckley)

Paragraphs 4, 8, 9 and 19 (generalization): As a result, Buckley deduces that some kind of: fundamental shift has taken place. Where, no one wants to go the extra mile for the customer and the public is unwilling to speak up about what is taking place. The reason why he believes that this is occurring is because of: the tremendous technological advancements and the levels of comfort that most people enjoy. (Buckley)

However, beneath the surface, managers are more concerned about the ability to: produce high quality presentations and accurate numbers. (Schrage)

Identifying support for the argument: To highlight these views there are several basic points that Schrage makes. To include: the mixing of different languages / phrases into English (making it less useful), globalization is forcing specialized forms of communication and large corporations will begin to focus on having language free platforms to address these issues.
