One of the more effective methods for supervisors and teachers to work together is a collaborative method, where both groups work towards a common goal. In the school district, improving student nutrition is of great concern for both administrators and teachers. Teachers have worked to design a curriculum that reinforces messages of healthy eating in conjunction with supervisors. Administrators have agreed not to sell unhealthy food as a means of school fundraising, while teachers do not use food as reinforcement in class. There has been a mutual dialogue amongst teachers and supervisors about transmitting messages of healthy eating in science and health classes that is reinforced with school policies banning unhealthy...

For example, when disciplining an unruly student, a teacher is usually given discretion to enforce the punishment. To constantly second-guess a teacher's authority sends a wrong message to parents and students. One student who was constantly disruptive was told he could not participate in a class field trip, after several warnings from a teacher. His parents appealed to the school administrators, saying that it was unfair to deny him the ability to go on the trip. However, given that the teacher had arranged the trip and informed the student that improved performance in school was essential for him to be eligible for attending, the administration supported the teacher in her dealings with the student.
