The prevention also includes the department's collaboration with the community. This is because the community must support the prevention activity of the El Dorado Hills Fire Department. This is the reason for which the department has initiated a series of training sessions and other activities intended to increase the degree of awareness among the population regarding the issues addressed by the department.

The department's initiative in this direction also allows and encourages the public to view a series of videos posted on the department's website about fire prevention. This is a low cost prevention measure that can help both the department and the community in case.

However, it seems that the community's opinion regarding the most important issues in fire and life safety is somewhat different from that of the department. The community would rather let the entire responsibility regarding fire and life safety to the El Dorado Hills Department. In their opinion, the department is paid to do this job and it is their responsibility to handle situations addressed by this issue.

In other words, they expect to not put much effort in the prevention of such situations. The department also focuses on preparing the community members for disasters that might take place, like fire or flooding.

This is because politicians are well-known for the fact that they tend to make numerous promises they have no intention of keeping, especially during campaigns. In certain cases, such promises affect organizations and institutions like fire departments.
The relationship between the El Dorado Hills Fire Department Chief and political leaders is also deteriorated by the fact that the financial resources of such departments depend on politicians. Fire departments are often affected by budget reductions.

These budget reductions affect the quality and efficiency of fire department's activity. The employees working in these departments are also affected. As a consequence, the entire community is concerned by this financial management.

Political leaders should come to support the activity of fire departments and to become more involved in helping them increase their financial resources, or to develop a series of programs intended to help such departments to procure the required equipment and tools in their activity.
