She helped my grandmother refinance our home by becoming a lender and spoke at my grandmother's funeral. I can say that feel very blessed having had her as a positive force throughout my whole life. She not only was a close friend to my grandmother but also a very dear person to me. I will never forget that she always told me when I was a small boy to write everything down for which I felt grateful for when I would feel down or sad. This advice very much helped me to keep a somehow balanced view to whatever challenging situations occurred in my life and there have indeed been many of them. Unfortunately, I lost contact to her after her family moved her to a nursing home. I can say that it has been due to my upbringing by both, my grandmother and my grandmother's friend that giving up has never been an option to me. Both of these persons have truly been the two key spiritual figures in my life. (1) I completed High School and College. The overall GPA in college amounted to 3.5. The comparatively low GPA in High School was due to family issues (mother was diagnosed with a cancerous disease) and distraction (I had to take a night-time side-job as a security guard in order to help my mother finance our living).
(4) My college education was financed by means of tuition assistance, the Federal Pell Grant Program, and education benefits to dependents of veterans.

(5) I received the worst grades in mathematics due to a lack of interest in that field. My best grades were in "Criminal Justice" major classes, e.g., Crime Scene Investigation, Terrorism Investigation, and Criminology. I have always been fascinated by these subjects and found it most interesting to constantly broaden my knowledge in these areas.

(6) I completed formal education. I am currently enrolled at (Alternative: "I plan to enroll at") a Graduate School as a Master student in "Criminal Justice" (MCJ). My areas of concentration include (Alternative: "will include") probation and court services, justice administration, homeland security, criminal justice planning and research, leadership and executive management.
