Women comprise an essential part of the society; the role of women in the modern world is becoming more influential compared to the traditional days. The society is realizing the importance of women as leaders in the community and calling upon their ability to ensure that there is growth in the society. The rise of women in the society has been faced with stiff opposition from the male counterparts. In some developing countries, gender equality has not been achieved, but the pressure from developed is pushing many governments to recognize equality. Nations that have recognized the contributions of women have high economic growth compared to other countries that have ignored women.

Women empowerment refers to providing equal opportunities to women as men. Traditional organizational setting considers division of labor in the organization. Women are given roles that are not physically challenging while leadership roles are reserved for men. Gender equality entails providing women with the opportunity to work in areas that were conventionally reserved for men. Women empowerment comes with many challenges such as criticism and competition from the male gender in the society. Some women have surpassed these challenges to become national leaders, organizational leaders while some have achieved awards that have encouraged women to rise and contribute to the society.

The woman empowerment movement has seen the emergence of influential women in the globe who have provided role models to the girls in the society. The women who have achieved greatness have been the mentors for the ever growing population of leaders. Leadership matches the integral aspect that have to be shown within the society Women have achieved in all fields that men have dominated over the years. These women hold talks and encourage other women in the society to strive and achieve their goals in life. In the educational sector, some institutions provide mentorship programs aimed at ensuring that the students have the right role models.

The field of governance has been largely dominated by men and considered a field for men from conventional translation of men as the family heads. There are several women who are national heads, which is a role that had been reserved to men. Many influential organizations are being headed by women and achieving better results than those run by men. The family setup is also undergoing a revolution with women contributing to the household expenses as the men. Single families consider the woman as the family head thus altering the nature of governance in the society.

The credibility of women achievements can be evaluated by the effect of these achievements to the women population. The ability of a women leader to have a significant influence on the general population in the globe determines their credibility in the society. Such women attract a large following thus bring change to the society. The society has had a fair share of male leaders creating a culture where leaders are expected to be male. There is a revolution in many nations where the role of women in the society is changing. There are many challenges in the Muslim states compared to other states making women achievements valuable.
