We learn from Iago how evil people can be with so little effort and evidence. We also learn how reputations and images can become distorted when we allow ourselves to be consumed with ourselves. Othello watched Desdemona's reputation disintegrate right before his eyes and in the same wave of bad luck, saw his world come crashing down.
